Pack Summer Camp Presentation Cheat Sheet 1. Gather kids around and present them the poster of activities. Have them select the activities that they would like to do at camp. Get the parents involved by showing them the sample schedule poster. Make reference to what the weekend might look like. 2. Theme for Cub Camp 2016 a. The theme for the 2015 season is “Super Hero Training” b. Every scout can come out to camp and participate in Super Hero training. We’ll teach you how to build, shoot, swim, boat, and more. Skills will be used for Super Hero competition later in the year 3. Hand out activity for kids 4. Promote the camp your pack is attending and when? Camp: ________________ Date:______________ 5. Facilities a. We have tenting and indoor housing options at every camp b. Hot showers at all camps c. A pool at two camps (Kiwanis and Phillippo) d. Dining Hall or shelters at all camps 6. New This Year!!! a. Tiger Day Camp Option: If you are attending Phillippo or Stearns, on the weekend your Pack attends camp, Tigers can come from 9:00 a.m. ‐ 3:30 p.m. on Saturday for a Day Camp experience ($32 for youth, $12 for adult) b. Wolf Overnight Option: If you are attending Phillippo or Stearns, on the weekend your Pack attends camp, Wolves can come from 9:00 a.m. on Saturday through Sunday afternoon c. Tigers and Wolves are more than welcome to stay the full weekend if they would like 7. Fees (pack specific – depends on fundraising. See the Council website for information on Popcorn sales to assist with your pack funds) a. $______ per person (council fee is $127 per youth and $87 for adults) b. Fees cover food, housing, crafts, program supplies, a patch, and staffing. Plus, all fees help maintain the camp year round with maintenance and upkeep. c. Compared to other organizations our fees are very reasonable for the program that you receive 8. If you find you cannot attend the same weekend as the pack a. We encourage you to look into going to camp on a different weekend b. Registrations can be made by individuals for camp c. Payment can be worked out through the pack 9. Family Camp Option a. This will be a Cub Scout Camp held at Stearns Scout Camp that invites siblings to come along with their brother to get the Scouting experience. Visit goscouting.org for details. 10. Why we go to camp a. Program is planned for us b. Kids have a great time spending time outdoors with their friends outside of a school environment c. Kids grow up way too fast. This is an easy way to make time in our busy lives to spend quality one on one time with our children in a fun and safe environment. d. It is fun and meaningful e. - Runs numerous Council activities and
operates as a weekend camping facility
- Has air conditioned bunkhouse available for
summer use

- Surrounded by Long Lake and has a lake
within the camp (plus multiple offshoots of
Long Lake)

- AOLC: One program, two locations
- The expectation is that all of our AOL Scouts
(boys entering 5th grade) are attending this
“transition camp” where they are introduced
to Boy Scout Camping
- The transition rate DRASTICALLY increases
when a Scout attends AOLC

Tiger Day Camp Option:
- Give Tigers the option to come out for the day (Saturday) for
Cub Scout Summer Camp.
Wolf Overnight Option:
- Give Wolves the option to come out for just one night (Saturday
morning-Sunday afternoon) at Cub Scout Summer Camp.
No Tiger or Wolf is required to use these options. Both have the
option to stay the entire weekend.

Saturday: Tigers and Wolves option join after breakfast
