Spring 2007
NAACP: Youth Council/TCC
Youth Helping Youth Conference
Evaluation Results
Executive Summary
Results of evaluations from the Spring 2007 NAACP: Youth Council/TCC “Youth Helping
Youth Conference” are presented in this report. The evaluation instrument consisted of 7 items
using both a four-point, Likert-type scale and a yes/no response format. Two open-ended items
were included to allow for comments, and four demographic questions were asked. Findings
suggest the following:
•
Respondents were highly satisfied with the overall experience. Almost all (95%)
indicated they “Liked it” or “Loved it.” Likewise, 94% reported that their expectations
were met, and 98% stated they would recommend this program to others.
•
A strong majority indicated satisfaction with all individual sessions. The parent sessions
received the highest mean satisfaction rating with 89% reporting “Liked it” or “Loved it.”
•
The information presented was well understood, with 95% of all respondents noting they
“Liked it” or “Loved it.”
•
Although the respondents were evenly divided between students and parents and between
male and female, most (72%) of the student respondents were male, while most of the
parent respondents (81%) were female.
•
When comparing student and parent responses, parent respondents reported significantly
higher satisfaction with the opening session, parent sessions, understanding of
information presented, and the overall experience. No significant differences were found
between student and parent perceptions of the student sessions.
•
Respondents listed “Beat the Streets” and “Purpose Driven Parents” among the most
useful workshops.
•
The most frequent suggestions for improvement was to provide more time for questions
or one-on-one conversations with speakers.
