Take a walk up Monument Hill to appreciate spectacular views. Find the Trentham Fairies hidden around the gardens, woods and lake. Look out for classical and contemporary sculpture around the estate from Perseus to Diving Otters! Use the otter and bird hides to spot wildlife by The River Trent and the wetlands beyond. Meander through the gardens then relax, sit back and enjoy the scenery. Lose yourself and shout for help in the Hide and Speak Maze and enjoy the Adventure Playground. Get naked from the knees down and brave the Barefoot Walk (seasonal). Climb onto the viewing platform in the Upper Flower Garden for the best view of the Italian Garden. See the remains of Trentham Hall in this quiet corner of the garden - there’s a love seat here too! Frequently asked questions How can we take a boat or train ride? I’m a visitor with limited mobility, how can you help? The boat and miniature train operate seasonally and extra charges apply. Pick up a timetable at the main entrance, pay for your tickets there or purchase them with cash on the boat or train. Rowing boats are available for hire from the north jetty during weekends and bank holidays in peak season. Most areas of the gardens are accessible to wheelchair users please ask for a suggested route map. Inaccessible areas are clearly marked as unsuitable. Manual wheelchairs are available on a first come, first served basis from the main entrance. A deposit is required. There are lots of benches around the lake and gardens. Find disabled toilets at the main entrance, the Tearoom and in the Shopping Village. Where can we eat? The Italian Garden Tearoom and Lakeside Café offer a delicious menu. We welcome picnicking and tables are available by the lakeside and around the gardens. Is our dog welcome? We welcome dogs on short leads. Please use the dog waste bins and avoid the playground, maze and barefoot walk. Dogs are not allowed in the Monkey Forest. Can we re-enter the gardens? Yes, please retain your ticket and show it to re-enter as many times as you like the same day. Can we cycle? Sorry, only under 5s can cycle, at walking pace.
