The best kind of conveyor system is one that keeps moving, with the
absolute minimum of stoppages for parts changes, cleaning and
maintenance. But conveyors in the mining and construction industry
have to stand up to all kinds of challenges - heavy abrasive materials
and dusty, dirty conditions - day in, day out.
One good way to keep your conveyor moving is to keep the belt as
clean as possible. Using both pre-cleaning and secondary cleaning
systems helps reduce downtime to a minimum. It also makes your
equipment function better, increases its service life and cuts down
on product waste.

New system for secondary belt cleaning
To help you meet the belt cleaning challenge, Metso proudly introduces a secondary belt cleaning system that’s more
efficient and flexible than ever. It has a
brand new tensioning device - the smart,
compact Trellex® ABC Z-tensioner –
which works together with secondary
scrapers to provide the right pressure
and optimize the secondary cleaning
function.
Fitted immediately behind the drive pulley, the new system effectively removes
dirt, dust and other unwanted material
without over-scraping or damaging the
belt. It prevents material build-up that
can cause spillage, extends the working
life of the belt, minimizes downtime for
maintenance and improves overall operational efficiency. The perfect match for
light and medium duty applications.

Effective secondary scrapers
At the heart of our new secondary belt cleaning system is the Trellex
ABC T-Cleaner scrapers. Their individual metal blades are molded into
flexible rubber or polyurethane mounts, allowing for independent
movement and thereby preventing damage to the conveyor belt.
As material comes in contact with the scrapers, the T-Cleaner scrapers
and tensioner work together to provide optimum contact pressure per
surface unit and to maintain the correct scraper-to-belt contact angle.
The system is effective even in the most demanding applications,
involving highly abrasive materials. It improves secondary cleaning
efficiency …and helps keep your conveyor belt moving!
Polyurethane blades
Rubber blades
The rigidity of polyurethane blades helps them maintain an
optimal 90 degree angle to the conveyor belt. They offer good
resistance to grease and oil, and are especially suitable for use
with a vulcanized belt.
The flexibility of rubber blades enables them to move with a
degree of independence. This makes them especially valuable
in situations where the conveyor belt is uneven, since they yield
to pressure rather than causing damage.

Trellex ABC Z-tensioner - a secondary tensioner that brings together
all the benefits of previous models into one flexible, hardwearing
product. Its compact design with smart features for installation and
blade changes makes keeping your conveyor belt clean easier and
safer than ever.
