Sir Isaac Newton His Life, Values, and Times by Rick Brown Moore Hall Auditorium April 7, 2014 at 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. “In this presentation students of all ages will meet Sir Isaac Newton up close and personal. Instead of reading a bunch of stuff about an old dead guy, the audience talks to and discusses Newton's life and accomplishments with the man himself. They learn about his childhood, his thought processes and all the trials and tribulations he went through when he was trying to convince the scientific community about his theories and ideas. He not only talks about his 3 Laws of Motion; but, he shows real world examples of those laws that we use all the time in today's world. This interactive demonstration allows students to not only learn about his laws but experience them first hand as they help Newton with many of his experiments. This presentation brings the history of Science alive and really gets students excited about Science.” Quote by Sir Isaac Newton: "I do not know what I may appear to the world; but to myself I seem to have been only like a boy playing on the seashore, and diverting myself now and then in finding a smoother pebble or prettier shell than ordinary, while the great ocean of truth lay all undiscovered before me."
