Dress like a Social or a Greaser
Thursday, October 9th, 2014
One point= Dress in the attire of a typical Greaser or Social, as described in the novel and as seen in
the movie. Style your hair appropriate to a Greaser or Social. *you can also refer to the movie Grease
and reruns of the old tv show Happy Days for ideas. You must look significantly different than your
normal ‘look’.
Three Points= Dress as described above and act out a one to two minute scene from the novel,
complete with dialogue and appropriate dress and small props. Your lines must be memorized. Should
be at least one minute, but no more than 2 minutes long.
IDEAS:
Social Boy: would wear pants, probably would be tan/khaki/grey, a shirt with a collar or a madras print
shirt with collar, shorter hair brushed to the side, maybe a sweater over the collared shirt , or sweater
worn tied over shoulders, football or sports ‘letter’ type jacket, rings, a clean-cut, ‘rich’ look, dress
shoes if you have them(not sneakers), maybe you would have keys to a mustang or a nice
sportscar….etc.
Social Girls: skirt, possibly plaid print, conservative shirt or sweater, pearls, hair worn up in a ponytail
with a ribbon or bow; or hair could be worn down with a headband, you might wear the sweater tied
over your shoulders, heels or little white socks with flat shoes, small earrings,….basically a ‘preppy’
look…..
Greaser Boys: Hair slicked back with hair gel, tighter jeans, converse sneaker or black boots, tighter
fitting t-shirt, maybe sleeves rolled up, t-shirt should be white or black, jean jacket or cut off jean vest,
black leather jacket, you may have some scars to make you look ‘tuff’, maybe a fake tattoo…….
Greaser Girls: This is a tough one since the Greaser Girls weren’t really featured in the novel, my
assumption would be: dark skinny pants or jeans or capris, high heels, scarf tied around neck,
harsh/strong makeup, big earrings, white t-shirt, jean jacket or jean vest, or black leather jacket,
basically dressed in all black/white, looking tough, (they did look a little ‘trashy’---but we must be
appropriate for school)
