Fin Trimming Guide for Perfect Water® .5 Liter Bottle - NOT RECOMMENDED!
This guide is designed to print actual size. Check the SCALE at the bottom of the page with a ruler. If the SCALE is
off you will need to change the scale setting for your printer to “Do not scale” or “100%.”
Through extensive research and development of the Quest Water Rocket we have found that not all sizes and shapes of
PET bottles are the same. Everyone knows different soda brands have different shaped bottles. What most people are
not aware of is that the PET bottles available in some distribution areas are not available in others. Some distributors use
different molds for the same product sold in other distribution areas. We have tried to make these Fin Trimming Guides
as user friendly as possible, but you may find that the bottle you have doesn’t look anything like the guide we have for
it. You may find the guide for another soda bottle looks more like yours. If so, use it to trim your fins. The most important
thing to look for is a PET soda bottle that fits up against the Root Edge of the fin when it is inserted into the Stabilizer ring.
This bottle shape does not conform enough to the shape of the Root Edge of the Fin. It will not produce a stable flying
rocket and could damage the fins if used. THIS BOTTLE SHAPE IS NOT RECOMMENDED!
