Seeking the best I believe that appreciation is a holy thing — that when
we look for what’s best in a person we happen to be with at the moment,
we’re doing what God does all the time. So in loving and appreciating
our neighbor, we’re participating in something sacred. --Fred Rogers

Thanks to all of you at the MCEA for
giving our family Hope during our
financial crisis. While it is better to give
than to receive, we are truly thankful
for the “BIG” help we have received
and pray that the next time we too can
be on the giving end! A special thanks to Mrs Selva
and Mrs Kathy! They truly represent the April
Sound fellowship and the Helping Hands committee
for what it’s all about. They are so sweet, warm and
kind-hearted. Sincerely Oscar, Ella, Brayla &
Braxton.
CHRISTMAS OFFERING: This year’s offering exceeded the goal of
$60,000. Thanks to each and every one who so generously contributed to
this offering.
BRAND NEW:
I am the new year. I am an unspoiled page in your book of time.
I am your next chance at the art of living. I am your opportunity to practice what
you have learned about life during the last 12 months. All you
sought and didn’t find is hidden in me, waiting for you to search it
but with more determination. All the good you tried for and didn’t
achieve is mine to grant when you have fewer conflicting desires.
All you dreamed but didn’t dare to do, all you hoped but did not will,
all the faith you claimed but did not have — these slumber lightly,
waiting to be awakened by the touch of a strong purpose. I am your opportunity
to renew your allegiance to him who said, “See, I am making all things new”
(Revelation 21:5, NRSV). —Author unknown
COMING: April Sound Church will be doing a study on The Armor of
God, by Priscilla Shirer. “All day, every day, an invisible war ranges
around you. A cunning, devilish enemy seeks to wreak havoc on
everything that matters to you – your emotions, your mind, your family,
your future. But…when the enemy meets a woman (or man) dressed
for the occasion, he fails miserably.” This 7-session, DVD and
workbook study will challenge you to suit up, stand firm, and secure victory in
your life. This will be offered on Thursday’s beginning, February 4, at 10-11:30
am. Child care will be available, as well as rides to the church if needed. This will
also be offered on Wednesday evenings beginning, February 3,at 5:30 pm. Rides
to and from church will be available. Childcare will not be offered at the evening
session. Please call Lauri Mackoy, 936-524-6657 will any questions or to reserve
your spot. We hope to see you there! The Wednesday evening study will
coincide with part of our Lenten dinners, which will begin on February 17 from
5-6:15 pm. Ash Wednesday is February 10 and a short service will be held at
noon and at 5:45 pm that day.
REQUESTS FROM OUR KITCHEN CREW:

pantry. Most food leftover from an event is not eaten so
