Definite Integrals with U-Substitution Quia Quiz:
For class today, you will be completing a series of practice problems to demonstrate your understanding of definite integrals using
u-substitution. You may work with a partner to complete this assignment but each of you must submit both written work along with
a Quia Quiz of your answers by the due date. In order to receive full credit for this assignment please read the directions below. All
the problems you are to complete are circled on the back of this paper and can also be found in the book: p. 329-330 #’s 41-62
1. NO WORK, NO CREDIT: If you fail to show any work, you will not receive any credit for those problems. Show as much
work as necessary to show you understand the concepts. Be sure to turn in all of your work along with your competed
answer sheet
2. RESOURCES: You may only use the following resources: textbook, notes, and partner. Please refrain from working with
other pairs during this assignment.
3. CELL PHONES/IPODS: No cell phones or ipods are to be used or out during this assignment. Please do not give the
substitute a hard time about this. Remember… they leave and you may never see them again. However the report that they
leave for me about you will follow you for the rest of the semester.
4. SUBMITTING ANSWERS: You are to submit all of your answers via the quia quiz at the following link:
http://www.quia.com/quiz/4809620.html. The quiz will be open Thursday, December 17th – Tuesday, December
22nd. You are to turn in all of your written work to Ms. Konnick on Tuesday, December 22nd at the beginning of
class. Be sure to read the directions on how to input your answers!! (fractions, number of decimal places, etc)
5. GRADING AND ASSISTANCE: This assignment will be counted as a SUMMATIVE Assessment grade. You can submit
your answers a total of 3 times and the best score will be counted as your grade for this assignment. You may ask for help
on Monday, December 21st during our exam review time. Help does not mean that Ms. Konnick does the problem for you.
It means you come in with specific questions and ask for guidance or clarification in problem solving.
