Local Rules on back
All USGA Rules are in effect except where modified by the following Local Rules.
Out of Bounds: Defined by all roadways, white fencing bordering the golf course, white stakes and lines.
Property on the opposite side of water hazards is out of bounds.
Water Hazards: All water is to be played as lateral hazards defined by red stakes. The orange sand areas on
holes 4, 8, 9, 10, 12, 14 and 17 shall be played as Through the Green not hazards.
Ground Under Repair: Defined by white lines. Other areas even when not marked are French drains and fire
ant hills.
Use of distance measuring devices: For all play at this course, a player may obtain distance information by
using a device that measures distance only. If during a stipulated round a player uses a distance-measuring
device that is designed to gauge or measure other conditions that might affect his play (e.g. gradient, wind
speed, temperature, etc.), the player is in breach of rule 14-3, for which the penalty is disqualification,
regardless of whether any such additional function is actually used.
Embedded Ball Through the Green: Through the green, a ball that is embedded in its own pitch-mark in the
ground may be lifted without penalty, cleaned and dropped as near as possible to where it lay but not nearer
the hole. The ball when dropped must first strike a part of the course through the green. “Through the green” is
the whole area of the course except: a. The teeing ground and putting green of the hole being played; and b.
All hazards on the course. Exceptions: 1. A ball embedded in sand in a bunker. 2. A ball embedded in an
area not closely mown (rough). 3. if interference by anything other than the condition covered by this Local
Rule makes the stroke clearly impracticable.
Immovable obstructions close to Putting Green. “Relief from interference by an immovable obstruction may
be taken under rule 24-2. In addition, if a ball lies off the putting green but not in a hazard and an immovable
obstruction on or within two club-lengths of the putting green and within two club-lengths of the ball intervenes
on the line of play between the ball and the hole, the player may take relief as follows: The ball must be lifted
and dropped at the nearest point to where the ball lay that (a) is not nearer the hole, (b) avoids intervention and
(c) is not in a hazard or on a putting green. The ball may be cleaned when lifted”
Landscaped Areas: A ball coming to rest in the landscape planters on holes 5 and 14 may be lifted, cleaned
and dropped in accordance with Rule 25-1b.
Loose Impediments: Wood chips, mulch and pine straw are loose impediments.
Sod Seams: Through the green, sod seams (not the sod itself) are deemed to be ground under repair, and
relief is available under Rule 25-1 if the ball lies in or touches a sod seam or a sod seam interferes with the
area of intended swing. All seams within the sodded area are considered the same seam.
Suspension of Play Due to a Dangerous Situation: All practice areas are closed during suspension for a
dangerous situation until the Committee has declared them open. Players who practice on closed practice
areas will be asked to cease doing so; failure to comply may result in revocation of entry.
Special Note: Areas to the right of the cart paths on holes #10, #12, #13, #15, #16 & #18 are to be played as
Through the Green. If you believe you ball has entered these areas, you should declare and play a
provisional ball to avoid undue delay. If you cannot find your original ball the provisional ball will be in play
under the stroke and distance penalty. If the ball is found in the bushes or grass, the player may declare the
ball “unplayable” under rule 28 IF relief may be accomplished within 2 club lengths of the ball, (not closer to the
hole).
