ART SUPPLIES
7th grade: Prang Semi Moist 8 Oval Watercolor Set (see note below), Pocket Folder with Metal
Brackets
8th Grade: 1 pack of 11inch by 15 inch watercolor paper, Graphite Drawing Set (see note
below), pocket folder with metal brackets
Notes about various supplies for Middle School:
- Graphite Drawing Set: Make sure the set includes at least 4 pencils; the pencils range from
about 6H - 9B. Any of these pencils can be used, just make sure to have at least one pencil from
the "H" side and at least one from the "B" side. At the craft stores these pencils can be purchased
individually for about $1.85 or a set can be purchased with four pencils with a nice eraser for
about $4 or $5. Make sure to use a coupon to bring down the price
- Prang Watercolor Sets: The cheapest I have seen is $3 on Amazon. I know the craft store sales
the same thing for $6 but if you have a half off coupon, you can get it for the same price as
Amazon.
High School Art Supplies:
General Art: Bring $20 on the first day of school for all supplies. You will not be asked to
bring anything else the rest of the year :-) You will also be able to keep the supplies after the
class is finished if you so desire to.
Graphite Drawing Class: Bring $20 on the first day of class for all supplies. You will not be
asked to bring anything else the rest of the year :-) You will also be able to keep
the supplies after the class is finished if you so desire to.
Watercolor Painting Class: Bring $25 on the first day of class for all supplies. You will not be
asked to bring anything else the rest of the year :-) You will also be able to keep
the supplies after the class is finished if you so desire to.
Notes regarding supplies for High School Art Classes: If I order in bulk it will save you money
so that is what I am doing. You will receive a variety of supplies when you turn in your money
the first day of class. At the local craft store all of these supplies together (without coupons)
would cost you about $50.
Photography Class:
- Idea Book (essentially you are looking for a blank page, hard bound or spiral, book about 5.8" x
8.25" in size or larger. It might be called a sketch book at the craft store, but we will not be using
it in this way).
- Itoya Black Portfolio 8.5" x 11" (If you find a different brand name that is fine, I am just listing
this brand to give you an idea of what I prefer)
- Access to a Digital Camera
- Access to a Thumb/Flash Drive
It is your choice if you would like to print your pictures at school or not. If you plan to
print at school you will also need:
- Digital Photo Paper (package of 15 8.5" x 11" paper)
- $5 toward the cost of ink
If you do not plan to print your pictures at school you will need:
- Availability to print your pictures from a professional lab or on a vary nice printer at home
