Dear Parent / Guardian
The PTA arranges a twice-yearly collection with Bag2School
which last year raised a total of £343 for the school and
supports the school’s recycling message. Bag2School are
the UK’s leading textile recycler and fundraiser working with schools and since
its inception in 2001 they have now paid out over £27 million.
This year we are combining the Bag2School collection with collections for the School
Fete and for Ebaying to raise money for the school. Any suitable items that can’t be
used will be passed on to a local charity shop.
If you have any of the following items that you no longer require, please put them in
the collection box outside of the school office. We are collecting:



Any ‘new’ items including clothes with labels, packaging etc (for Ebaying, or
tombola prizes. NB. Other items of clothing should be put in the Bag2School
donation bags)
Books, CDs, DVDs, Computer Games
Any Lego (in the box if you have it, if not, just in a sealed bag. There’s no
minimum quantity)
Soft toys that remain in ‘new’ condition for ‘Adopt-a-Teddy’ at the Fete (NB.
Other soft toys should be put in the Bag2School donation bags)
Your child will be bringing home a Bag2School donation bag in their school bag.
This can be filled with adults’ and children’s clothes, shoes (tied together please),
hats, belts and handbags. Please note bedding, curtains, and household linen cannot
be accepted (refer to www.bag2school.com for details). If you fill the donation bag
and still have more to recycle, then you can use any other plastic bag to donate your
items and don’t forget to ask grandparents, friends and neighbours to have a sort out
as well! Additional bags will also be available from the form holder outside the
School Office.
If you write your child’s name on any Bag2School donations that you, your family or
friends return, your child will be entered into a draw to win a prize. Each bag will
receive one entry.
In addition to raising much needed funds for the school it will also raise awareness
amongst the children of the benefits of recycling and reuse.
Bag2School will be collecting from our school on Thursday 18th May at 9.00am.
Please bring your bag (or bags!) to the grass area, outside the Reception gate to the
left of the school building or the bike shed if wet and help us have a really good
collection. We will be collecting from Monday 15th May but have limited dry storage
so would appreciate bags being delivered on the morning of Thursday 18th May if
possible.
Many thanks indeed for helping us with this unique fundraising opportunity.
Yours faithfully
Wanborough Primary School PTA
