Laser Vein Surgery or Endovenous Laser
Ablation is a revolutionary procedure
which uses lasers to collapse, seal and
ultimately smooth away varicose veins.
It is performed in the office in under an
hour. The patient remains awake and is
able to walk out of the office and most
are back to a normal routine the next
day. This minimally invasive technique
averts the scars, bruising and general
anesthesia associated with traditional
vein stripping. Veins begin to reduce
almost immediately and generally disappear within three to four weeks.
Sclerotherapy uses an injection to
collapse varicose and spider veins. The
procedure requires no hospital stay
and returns patients to normal activities almost immediately.
Phlebectomy is a minimally invasive
procedure used to remove varicose veins
on the surface of the leg. This is done in
the physician’s office using local anesthesia and through tiny skin incisions.
These incisions are so small, they do not
require stitches and after they heal they
are barely visible.
Most procedures are covered by
insurance. Varicose veins are not just a
cosmetic issue. They can be painful, trigger swelling and itching, and leave the
legs feeling heavy and tired. Untreated,
they can result in ulcerations of the skin.
