The program’s name is Ten On Tuesday. The program is designed to help reduce plastic waste by collecting ten pieces of trash every Tuesday to reduce worldwide litter. The program can be found at ReverseLitter.com. If you go to the site you will be able to sign up individual people or a school. We are subscribed as Stone Middle School Northlamar Campus. North Lamar High School We contacted Sanitation Solutions, & Jason Stephens gave the high school 6 bins to borrow for recycling purposes. We gave two of these bins to the DAEP location. The NLHS Green Club members will till and plant three gardens (herb, vegetable, & fruit) behind the DAEP building. The Green Club is looking at ways to recycle plastic and plan to speak with Becky Semple (Chamber of Commerce) and other community members who want to form a committee on recycling in Paris and the surrounding cities of Lamar County. In March, the high school will be collecting plastic bags for the downtown food pantry and will also be sending volunteers to work at the food pantry. The NLHS Green Club has partnered with the Zone 32 organization to do some community service and outreach. For example, the two clubs have now partnered with Seeds of Hope and their Community Garden Project. The NLHS Green Club has plans to work with the high school art dept. in creating some art with the plastic bottles that have been collected.
