Inter-house competition:
SPELLATHON!
The Heads of House are running an
inter-house Spellathon!
Each tutor group needs to produce a
spelling champion.
ROUND 1:
You will be given a list of 25 words by
your tutor to learn.
You will have a week to learn them.
Your tutor will give you a spelling
test during a registration and the
person with the highest score will go
through to the next round to
represent your house.
Inter-house competition:
SPELLATHON!
ROUND 2:
The spelling champion from each
form group will be given approx a
week to learn another 25 words.
They will represent their house and
their year group at a lunchtime
spelling bee in the hall (Mon 18thThurs 21st).
Each house will have between 1-2
representatives in each year group.
The winner from each year group
will receive 50 house points for their
house and go on to ROUND 3 on
Friday 22nd November.

ROUND 3:
The winners from year 7 and 8 will go
head to head and the winners from
year 9 and 10 will go head to head in
a final spellathon battle (Friday
lunchtime in the hall)
The words could be from the 50
words they’ve had to learn to get this
far but there will also be some new
words thrown in to increase the
challenge!
ONLY THE STRONGEST SPELLER
WILL SURVIVE!

Important dates!
4th-8th November- Tutors give tutees their
spelling lists to learn.
11th-15th November- ROUND 1 tutor groups
have spelling test in tutor time and find their
tutor group Spellathon entrant.
Monday 18th November- ROUND 2 for Year
7 in the hall at lunchtime.
Tuesday 19th November- ROUND 2 for Year
8 in the hall at lunchtime.
Wednesday 20th November- ROUND 2 for
Year 9 in the hall at lunchtime.
Thursday 21st November- ROUND 2 for Year
10 in the hall at lunchtime.
Friday 22nd November- ROUND 3 for the
overall winners from Years 7, 8, 9 & 10.
