Thanks for your donation! MediCare has raised a total of HK$300,000 for three
patients suffering from Ankylosing spondylitis and Rheumatoid arthritis.
What follows is the most up-to-date situation of the patients Han Fei, Li Zuofu and Xu Yong
1. Han Fei
In July 2011, we sponsored Han Fei who was suffering from severe Ankylosing spondylitis to receive
the first operation. The doctors replaced the joints on his left hip so that his left leg did not need to be
raised while he walked. We sponsored 40,000 RMB in this operation.

Later, in May 2012, we helped him to have the second operation to remove
two sections of spine from his waist so that his back can be more stretched
and his head can be raised a little more. The operation was quite a success.
MediCare sponsored him 50,000 RMB.
Now Han Fei is recovering. But he still feels painful on the waist. However, he can stand more upright.

2. Li Zuofu
From February 2012 onward, Li Zuofu who had been suffering from Rheumatoid arthritis was
sponsored by MediCare to replace four joints, two joints on the hip and two joints on the knee. The
operation was done in two stages. In the first stage, his left leg was operated on while in the second
stage, his right leg was operated on. The two operations were completed in three months.

After the operations, he returned to Chongxing to rest. His situation is good. He can walk with less
difficulty. MediCare has sponsored him a total of 140,000 RMB in the two operations.
3. Xu Yong
Xu Yong had been suffering from Ankylosing spondylitis since he was young. His back had been
bended at an angle of 45 degree and could not be straightened. In December 2011, we sponsored him
to receive an operation to replace two joints on the hip. The operation was very successful. Now he can
almost stand upright. He is now leading a fellowship of handicapped people in Dujiangyan Church in
Sichuan and is rendering very good service. Also, through our introduction, he is working at a service
centre for handicapped people in Dujiangyan called “Let the Heart Set Out” to serve other handicapped
people. In this operation, MediCare has sponsored him 50,000 RMB.
