different scholarships though there is only
one application to complete! Scholarships

Scholarship
A scholarship will be award to the winning
application submitted by students residing in
Alaska, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Washington,
or Western Wyoming. High school juniors and
seniors from across the Northwest are
encourage to apply by creating a 90-second
video that demonstrates how BBB helps people
become smart consumers. We recommend
getting as creative as possible, telling us the
story of a person harmed by unethical business
practices and how the BBB can help educate
consumers in advance to prevent scams or to
help consumers report scams or bad business

assistance from the Neal O. Thorpe Memorial
Scholarship offered by The Alaska Community
Foundation. Applicants must attend, or plan to

universities in the Pacific northwest.

in their community through volunteerism and
extracurricular activities. Special consideration
will be given to those applicants at a

The Alaska CHARR Education Fund
awards scholarships once a year to Alaska
residents who are interested in pursuing a
career in the Alaskan hospitality industry.

Alaskan residents who graduate from high
school with rigorous course completion,
strong grade point averages, and
competitive college entrance exam or
career readiness test scores. The Alaska
Performance Scholarship will be awarded
only to students who attend accredited,
Alaska post-secondary institutions,
including colleges, universities, and jobtraining programs.
Keeping in mind that
the coursework
students will need to
take to qualify will be
rigorous, the award
levels are:
First level award:
$4,755 per year
• High school GPA of
at least 3.5 and very
high score on college
or career readiness
assessment.
Second level award:
$3,566 per year
• High school GPA of
at least 3.0 and high
score on college or
career readiness
assessment.
Third level award:
$2,378 per year
• High school GPA of
at least 2.5 and
moderately high score
on college or career
readiness assessment.

Exchange, a program of the Western Interstate Commission for Higher Education (WICHE). Through
WUE, students in western states may enroll in many two-year and four-year college programs at a reduced
tuition level: 150 percent of the institution's regular resident tuition. WUE tuition is considerably less than
