PROFESSIONAL ACTION PLAN (30 points) Due at the beginning of class Tuesday, April 22. Compile your Professional Action Plan with a timeline through graduation, of next steps. The Professional Action Plan will summarize and incorporate what you have learned in the career module and how you will use this information to help you reach your career and professional goals upon graduation. It will serve as a resource of information when you are ready to begin your job search. Documents needed for this final project will be created throughout the semester both from Mgt 321 course assignments (resume, cover letter) as well as in the Career Module (introduction, business card, mock interview self-critique, etc.). The Professional Action Plan will include a semester by semester timeline from the current semester to graduation which indicates what steps you will take to reach your transition goal. There must be a minimum of three items per semester not including taking classes and graduating. A complete Professional Action Plan will include the following items BOUND in a small CLEAR binder or folder: Title Page – Professional Action Plan for (Your Name) (1 pt) Cover Letter – MGT 321 assignment (1 pt) Resume – MGT 321 assignment (1 pt) Business Card – Pre-Assignment 2 (1 pt) Introduction/30-60 Second Business Elevator Speech – Created in Career Workshop (1 pt) 5 Occupations/5 Questions to Research – Pre-Assignment 1-Form included in this packet (1 pt) Occupational Mind Map – Completed in Career Workshop 1 (1 pt) Occupational Questions/Gap Analysis Handout – Completed in Career Workshop (5 pts) Network Mind Map – Completed in Career Workshop ( 1 pt) Interview Self Critique/Mock Interview Feedback Form–Self critique form included at end of Mock Interview packet OR Feedback Form provided by employer at live mock interview held at Competitive Edge event (2 pt) Email confirmation of your completed interview Networking Reflection - One page, double spaced, reflection on your experience at the networking event you attended (7 pts) Timeline of next steps from present to graduation including career resources you want to explore, individuals you want to talk with, opportunities you want to take advantage of including at MINIMUM THREE ITEMS PER SEMESTER you want to accomplish towards your occupational goal. Taking classes and graduating DO NOT count as an item. (8 pts) Points will be deducted for Professional Action Plans submitted late as well as Professional Action Plans submitted with just a staple or in the folder provided. Points will be deducted for cover letters and resumes submitted with the marked up graded version. Your Action Plan should have a clean corrected copy of your resume & cover letter.
