“A Flower Communion” Please bring a flower to share in this
unique ritual devised by Norbert Capek, Prague Minister and Unitarian martyr.
This is my church. It is composed of people like me.
We make it what it is.
It will make generous gifts to many causes, if I am a generous giver.
It will bring other people into its fellowship, if I bring them.
It will be friendly, if I am.
Its pews will be filled, if I fill them.
It will do great work, if I work.
It will be a church of love and faith; a church with a noble spirit, if I—who make it what it is—am
filled with these.
We were pleased to welcome Susie Kirkpatrick and Mieke Cremer into membership of Godalming
Unitarians at the service on 22nd July. Anyone interested in membership please speak to Sheena.
We also collected £103.05 for the work of the General Assembly which supports our denomination.
Our Lay Leader Sheena Gabriel is on Annual Leave from 20th August—2 September.
She will then attend the Ministry Retreat at the Nightingale Centre until 6 September.
Please contact any of the Officers (contact details overleaf) during this period in the
event of a pastoral emergency.

GODALMING UNITARIANS:
Many Beliefs, One Faith
Thanks to Louise Baumberg for
organising our banner. It made a
splendid backdrop for the Olympic torch
relay on 20 July. We offered “tea and a
toilet stop” to the stewards and crowds.
We had some good conversations and
collected £25 in donations.
Thanks also to Andrew Wickens and
Elizabeth Hills who performed a delightful
concert of music for a summer evening on
21 July. We welcomed at least one
newcomer to the chapel, and raised £300
to share equally between Send-a-child-toHucklow and Ashraya Nepal.
31 Aug-3rd Sept Unitarian Music Society (UMS)
conference and AGM at the Nightingale Centre. Nick,
Adrienne, Ken, Jeff and Sue will attend.
Looking ahead…
Saturday 22 September 1-4pm Open Day for
Godalming Healing Centre which meets at our chapel.
Sample alternative therapies for a small fee and
experience free spiritual healing taster sessions.
Refreshments. Contact Nick Morrice or Rob Oulton

Saturday October 20th 1:30—4:00 pm Autumn
