Providing temporary accommodation for referred homeless residents, helping them with complex

The programme will directly support and educate young people between the ages of 14 and 19 to
make healthier lifestyle choices, become peer mentors and then support them in using these
messages to positive influence their family and peers and challenge negative health behaviours.

Roll out the Fuel for schools project across the borough, setting up pop up food boutiques in schools,
teaching children about food waste and also providing bread and cereal for breakfast clubs.

The project aims to support parents who struggle with their child’s behaviours, covering coping
strategies and tools to help support children with anxiety, anger, hyperactivity, sensitivity and
children with a medical diagnosis.

The project involves providing activities and meals for children, young people and families in school
holiday periods in Start Well Family Centres.

Development of a volunteer car scheme, providing subsidised community transport.

Provision of a Community environmental outdoor learning centre with modern technology, so the
local community can enjoy guided walks and activities around the wetland.
Wigan & Leigh Cycling Partnership - £161,732.00
Provision of bicycles and cycling accessories at an affordable price in order to create a sustainable
cycling model for the borough which will be taken out to hard to reach areas through a cycling pod.
The Green Grass Centre - £50,000.00
The Growing Together project involves creating a community garden and running of events for the
whole community to come along and get involved in, for example bird box making courses and
planting bedding flowers.
