Friday, June 11 — Another Op’nin’
Andrés Díaz, Natasha Paremski, & Biava Quartet
Year 10 begins with three blockbuster works. You’ll be swept away by the
silken and sensuous Pierrot story for cello, the monolithic Brahms/Paganini
variations and the sweeping Norwegian landscapes of the Grieg Quartet in
g minor, Op. 27. Old friends and new grace the Innsbrook stage for this
enticing season opener. Conference Center/8 p.m.
Friday, June 11 — Postcard from Innsbrook
Gilles Apap, Chee-Yun & Grace Fong
A snapshot of the Innsbrook festival’s fabulous artists comes to St. Louis.
The effusive and impassioned Fauré Sonata for Violin and Piano No. 1 in
A Major, Op. 13 is framed by works of elegance, élan and virtuosity. A
postcard invites you to experience a location vicariously. Sheldon Concert

Around the World with Music
Join us as we embark on a brief but exhilarating musical tour of nations!
In this thrilling concert we traverse the sultry climes of Argentina, the
sparkling winter landscape of St. Petersburg, the rustic Appalachian ranges
and many, more exotic global locales. Conference Center/4 p.m.
Saturday, June 12 — Gypsy Aires
Gilles Apap and company
Not many festivals boast their own resident violin gypsy, one who easily
traverses between classical and ethnic music worlds. The magical lakeside
setting adds to the shimmer of an al fresco evening set to Jazz, Latin, French,
Slavic, Greek, Bluegrass and all-American. Lake Aspen Stage/7 p.m.
Saturday, June 12 — Music of the Night
Seth Carlin, David Requiro, David Halen and All-Stars
After watching the sunset on Lake Aspen, retire indoors for a musical
nightcap with David Halen and friends. Concluding with the velvet textures
of the Brahm’s Piano Quartet No. 1 in g minor, Op. 25, the evening will
glitter and glisten like the night sky. Conference Center, 9 p.m.
Sunday, June 13 — 110 in the Shade
Andrés Díaz, Biava Quartet and Chee-Yun
Sizzling is the only word to summarize the evening’s offerings. Fevered,
ecstatic and reaching moments of stunning virtuosity, three monumental
works present varying degrees of fire and heat. With orchestral
accompaniment. Conference Center/7:30 p.m.
Monday, June 14 — Bluegrass Meets Classical
Gilles Apap & Friends
Join us for this FREE concert at Innsbrook’s historic log cabin (south of
Alpine Dam). Named “The Violinist for the Next Millenium” by Strad
magazine, Gilles is a classical musician of the highest standing, but he is
also an aficionado of fiddle music. He will present a wonderful morning
of great fiddle tunes mixed in with a few surprises in a beautiful, pastoral
setting. Bring your picnic baskets and lawn chairs to this event. 10 a.m.
Monday, June 14 — Toward the Light
Mark Sparks, Yolanda Kondonassis, Erin Schreiber
and Innsbrook Orchestra
Music that elevates, transports, transcends. The sublime and serene
Concerto for Flute, Harp and Orchestra in C Major, K. 299 by Mozart
paired with Beethoven’s noble and enobling Violin Concerto in D Major,
Op. 61. Starting off with the Viennese favorite Wiener Blut Waltz, by
Johann Strauss. Our own Innsbrook alum, Erin Schreiber, now SLSO
Assistant Concertmaster, takes the stage as our violin muse. Conference
Center, 7:30 p.m.
Tuesday, June 15 — Sparkling Jewels
Andrés Díaz, Jacob Braun and Gilles Apap
Two great treasures of the repertoire, timeless classics of eternal
effervescence and appeal. The deeply eloquent Schubert String Quintet in
C Major, D. 956, Op. Posth. 163 performed with two Naumburg-winning
cellists, and the vividly picturesque Vivaldi’s Four Seasons in a unique
presentation fronted by Gilles Apap, harpsichordist Maryse Carlin, with
academy artists and students. Conference Center/7:30 p.m.

Wednesday, June 16 — Pictures and Stories
Andrés Díaz, Chee-Yun and Natasha Paremski
All music suggests images and narratives, but some has a more direct
association. “Of Fables, Foibles and Fancies” combines witty and amusing
texts with complimentary music for the cello (but who will be the narrator?).
Concluding with a pianistic feat of epic proportions, Mussorgsky’s Pictures
at an Exhibition. Conference Center/7:30 p.m.
Thursday, June 17 — Fine Tapestries
Grace Fong, Chee-Yun, Ricardo Morales and Amy Oshiro-Morales
Like choicest fabric of spun gold, folds of deep velvet and streaming satin,
the deeply felt Fauré Sonata for Violin & Piano No. 1 in A Major, Op.
13 is performed by Chee-Yun and Grace Fong (unofficially dubbed the
Velocity Sisters after last summers’ stunning collaborations). Philadelphia
Orchestra Principal Clarinetist Ricardo Morales is joined on stage by wife
Amy Oshiro-Morales and Innsbrook string artists for Brahms’ Clarinet
Quintet in B minor, Op. 155. Conference Center/7:30 p.m.
Friday, June 18 — Beauty and Brilliance
Ricardo Morales, Grace Fong and Innsbrook All-Stars
Some pieces move from the sublimely beautiful to the dazzlingly brilliant
all in one fell swoop. The Sonata for Clarinet & Piano by Leonard Bernstein
begins gracefully and concludes theatrically. Conference Center/8 p.m.
Saturday, June 19 — Yolanda Kondanassis Book Signing
World-renowned harpist Yolanda Kondonassis is the author of the new
children’s book, “Our House Is Round.” Books will be available for
purchase. Conference Center/11 a.m.
Music Grille Pre-Concert Dining Each Evening
During the Institute week from June 11 to 19, enjoy wonderful pre-concert dinners presented by Executive Chef
Dan Thomas at the Conference Center before each evening concert. The menu includes seasonal salads, sandwiches
and homemade flatbreads, entrees (fish, beef, chicken and pasta) and delectable desserts. Cocktails and wine list

up that opportunity to celebrate the Institute’s 10th year of making
beautiful music in a natural setting with a stunning concert
presented by David Halen and a collection of musicians from our

Thursday, June 10 — Preview Concert
Jacob Braun, Andrés Díaz, and the Biava Quartet
Surrounded by woods in a rustic setting, graced with good food and
beautiful music… sounds like Innsbrook right? But it’s the historic Deer
Creek Club in the heart of Ladue. Join us as we welcome the Biava Quartet
back. There will be wonderful hors d’oeuvres, drinks and desserts. 7 p.m.
$100 per person.
Saturday, June 12 — Church in the Wildwood
David Halen and Mark Sparks
Follow the winding lane on down to Harmonie Church for a sparkling
morning of musical sunshine. Includes the Brandenburg Concerto No. 4.
This breakfast fundraiser concert will take place at Harmonie Church. 9
a.m. $75 per person, includes breakfast and concert.
Sunday, June 13 — Alpine Musicale
Featuring Yolanda Kondonassis, Chee-Yun, Christopher Schmitt, David
Halen, David Requiro and Seth Carlin
Like a progressive dinner with musical courses, this event is served
at two different outstanding Innsbrook homes. Plus take a boat
tour of the lake. This Institute fundraiser will begin at the home of
David & Suzanne Baetz, 2241 Alpine Run Drive and continue at the
home of Jim & Helga Douglass at 2250 Alpine Ridge Drive. 1 p.m.
$125 per person.
Thursday, June 17 — Tasteful Afternoon
Biava Quartet, Chee-Yun, Yolanda Kondonassis, Jacob Braun and more
Sample great wines paired with great music by our own musical sommelier,
David Halen. Find out what cabernet works well with Bach... and more!
Reserve early, this always sells out! At the home of Doug & Ann Brown at

Friday, June 18 — Fortissimo with Ward Stare
For those non-Italian, non-musicians out there, Fortissimo means “very
loud.” Join the Innsbrook Institute’s Maestro as he exchanges his baton
for a 12-gauge shotgun and leads us in what will surely be a percussive
performance. This shooting competition will be at the Tyrolean Heights, the
future site of Innsbrook’s Community Center. Be one of the first to see this
breathtaking property. 10 a.m. $75 per person.

Featuring Kathryn Eberle, The Biava Quartet and more
Beautiful Lake Aspen is the backdrop as we enjoy Gershwin’s Bluesy
Preludes and a performance by the Biava Quartet, accented by good wine
and light hors d’oeuvres. At the home of Ed & Kirsten Boyce, 590 Aspen
Bend Drive. 4 p.m. $75 per person.
Sunday, December 5 — Holiday Gala & Auction
Mark your calendar for the Institute's first Holiday Gala and Auction. This
event will be held at the Sheldon Concert Hall and will include a wonderful
concert to open the holiday season and plenty of fantastic auction items
so you can get your shopping done early, benefitting the Institute in the
process. 3 p.m.
Saturday, December 11 — Holiday Concert
It’s a tradition at the Institute – we will present a wonderful afternoon of
beautiful music in an Innsbrook home. This is always a heart-warming and
touching performance. At the home of Norm & Ruth Drissell at 914 Silver
Fox Drive. 1:30 p.m. $75 per person, includes refreshments and desserts.
