FAQ'S
How long does the treatment take and how many do I
need?
Treatments can take anywhere between 15­45 minutes
depending on the area being treated. Depending on your skin
and hair type you may need as little as 6 or up to
12 treatments.
Why do I need 6+ treatments?
Hair growth occurs in 3 stages: Early Anagen (active
hair growth), Catagen (regression/transition phase) and
Telogen (resting, not growing). IPL treatment only affects the
Anagen stage (actively growing hair).Therefore, approximately
25% of hair is removed with each treatment. A few treatments
are therefore required for the treatment area to be hair free.
How far apart do treatments need to be?
As a general rule of thumb, we recommend that you
book your treatments 4 weeks apart for body areas and 3
weeks for facial hair.
Is it actually permanent?
Typically, hair growth will be reduced by 80% and the hair that
remains is very soft and fine. There are some keys factors
including your genes and hormones that will determine how
effective the treatment is at permanently reducing your hair
growth.
Is it safe and does it hurt?
IPL utilizes IN­MOTION and low heat settings so that it is able
to provide a level of safety unlike any other laser hair removal
treatment. It should however be specified that people with
epilepsy and some medications are not suitable candidates
for IPL treatment. Lastly, IPL is basically pain free, some of
our clients have described it as similar to an elastic band
being lightly flicked at the skin.
