honor and pay tribute to the leaders of tBE’s Makom project with the 4th annual pillar of
Tikkun olam award.
our Evening to Remember is also a fundraiser, and we encourage you to bid enthusiastically
and frequently in the Silent, Super Silent, and Live Auctions. Proceeds from An Evening to
Remember will allow temple Beth Elohim to maintain our core value of inclusion, by providing
affordable membership and participation for all, regardless of financial means. Funds
raised will also ensure we continue to provide high quality community-wide programs,
religious education for all ages and pastoral care for those in need.

The items and services in the auction are offered and sold under the following terms and conditions:
the Committee has made every effort to correctly catalog and describe all items and services being
sold. the Auctioneer is not responsible for the correct description, genuineness, authenticity, or
defects in any item and makes no warranty in connection therewith. the Auctioneer reserves the
right to make verbal corrections and provide additional information from the auction block at the
time of sale.
the highest bidder, acknowledged by the Auctioneer, shall be the purchaser. All bids must be made
by bidder number. In the event of any dispute between bidders, the Auctioneer shall have the last
word and decide all bidding/winning situations. Bidding on any item(s) indicates acceptance of all
“conditions of sale”. In the Live Auction the Auctioneer will determine the opening bids.
the Auctioneer reserves the right to withdraw any item before or during the sale. All goods are sold
“as is” and without recourse.
Unless otherwise specified, all services and certificates must be used within one year from the date
of the Auction.
Vacation homes are not transferable, and, where stipulated, the terms of the donor are to be
respected. the dates mutually agreed upon for the use of homes, trips and parties are to be honored
as a courtesy to the donor. the purchaser is expected to assume responsibility and liability for any
damage to the property that occurs during the use of same.

Please remember that all items must be picked up and paid for in full on the night of the Auction.
Personal checks, MasterCard, VISA and American Express are acceptable methods of payment.
Checks should be made out to temple Beth Elohim.
Tax deductions
You may deduct the cost of any item that you have donated to the Auction at the price you paid for
it. If you paid $250.00 or more for an item that you have donated, you should obtain a receipt from
the tBE Development office. Formal thank you letters will be mailed to all donors by May 31, 2015.
If you purchased an item at the Auction, you may only take tax credit for the amount you paid that
exceeds the fair market value of the item. For example, a $100.00 gift certificate to Delicious
Restaurant, is purchased Auction night for $150.00. the bidder may claim a donation of $50.00.
the cost of dinner and tribute tickets exceeding $100.00 is deductible.
