Default Vel.
Unit m/s. Velocity that is recorded when the RAVEN-EYE does not issue a
validated velocity measurement and the NOH number is exceeded.
Note:
All changes made to a configuration have a direct effect on the calculated measurement data: Velocity,
Level & Flow in the “Measurement “ tab (see Figure 19).

Check this box the velocity of the water can go down to 0 m/s
“Tidal influence”:
Check this box if an influence can occur on the hydraulic conditions from tides.
“Downstream block.”: Check this box if a downstream blockage can occur
Expected velocity
Used to configure the expected velocity in the configured measuring site. This
setting forces the RAVEN-EYE to find the velocity within the configured range.
“Min. Expected Vel”: Unit: m/s. Minimum velocity expected on site. Default value: -4,000 m/s
“Max. Expected Vel”: Unit: m/s. Maximum velocity expected on site. Default value: 4,000 m/s
Specific features
Special features for measuring site configuration.
“Rapid changing velocity possible”:
Check the box if velocity might change rapidly
“Low velocity focus active”:
Check this box if the velocities might always be low (< 0,25 m/s)
Vel. Selector
Use the “velocity selector” to choose what type of velocity will be used for the
flow calculation.
“vAVG”:
Average velocity as calculated using Flow-Tronic’s algorithms.

Upload configuration to RAVEN-EYE or device
Prerequisites

Connect the RAVEN-EYE or device to the computer (refer to section 2.4 on page - 6 -).

Save configuration clicking on the “Save Configuration” button.
Procedure
Once the configuration of the RAVEN-EYE is done, RTQ-Log gives the possibility to upload the configuration
to the device. It is necessary to upload the configuration to the device in order to use the correct settings for
the measurement.
1.
Click the “Upload Configuration To RAVEN-EYE” button (see Figure 18).
2.
Wait until upload is complete. Do not unplug cable or disconnect device while upload is in
progress.

Note:
A backup copy is made on your hard drive before deleting a measurement site. This means that the
previous deleted data for each site can be restored.
2.5.5.2 Delete measurement data
Measurement data can be deleted if necessary.
1.
Select the site in the “Site / ID” dropdown list from which you want to delete the measurement data.
2.
Click the “Delete Local Measurement Date” button (see Figure 16).

Activate real-time measurements
Any RAVEN-EYE with firmware version 0.05, 0.06 or higher can be connected via the communication cable
(P/N: RAV-4001) to any computer equipped with Windows XP, Vista, 7 or 8. When a RAVEN-EYE is
connected to the computer, real-time measurements can be taken in order to verify the data coming from the
RAVEN-EYE.
Activate real-time measurements:
Prerequisites

Connect the RAVEN-EYE or device to the computer, refer to section 2.4 on page - 6 -
Procedure
1.
Check the box “Activate RAVEN-EYE Recording” on the “Menu” section. On the box is checked
measurements will appear every ±13 seconds in the “Measurements” tab (see Figure 4)
2.
Use the left and right arrows or move the button on the scroll bar to simulate a level for the flow
measurement calculation.
