THE MOST BLESSED SACRAMENT
Today's feast - Corpus Christi - is in honor of the
Blessed Sacrament - the Body and Blood of Jesus sacrificed at Mass for our salvation and given in Communion
for our eternal life.
The Blessed Sacrament is the Heart of Christian life.
For us Catholics, all our faith and hope leads us to Mass
and comes from Mass. From the time we make our First
Communion,
we
return
continually to Jesus, the Source
of our life, for Him to nourish us
by His Body and Blood.
So, every Sunday is a
celebration of the Body of Christ
- Corpus Christi - because every
Sunday the whole Church
gathers around the altar to enter
into the sacrifice of Jesus and to
share His Food.
Today's celebration merely highlights the Eucharistic
reality of our lives. The Corpus Christi Procession at 1:15
PM is designed to strengthen our awareness of the
Eucharistic Christ Who is present on our altar and in our
tabernacle. In the Procession, the Body of Christ will be
carried through the parish - Jesus Himself passing
through our streets.
We will also be making four stops - at houses prepared
with an altar. At these stops, we will read from
the Bible - so that Jesus can speak to our neighborhood.
We will pray before the Lord - for it is by His Body and
Blood that the grace of God is given us.
We have given various Themes to the Four Altars of
Repose. The First will be Pentecost. Here we will pray
for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit. The Second will be
Fatima, where we will place all of our problems before the
intercession of our Mother. The Third will be Martha &
Mary, where we will pray for our Youth - May they know
Jesus, the Bread of Life. The Fourth Altar will be The
Blind Man/Zaccheus. Here we will pray for a New
Evangelization. Finally, back in the church, the Reading
will be The Great Commission. And Benediction will be
given - for the Eucharistic Lord to bless us.
Come join in the Procession.
rd
This coming Friday, June 23 , is the Feast of the Sacred
Heart of Jesus. This Feast also has a Eucharistic theme,
since in the apparitions of Jesus to St. Margaret Mary,
Jesus called for more frequent Communion, adoration of
the Eucharist, and prayers made in reparation for the
abuses made to the Blessed Sacrament. When you
come into the presence of the Lord in the Eucharist, you
come to His Heart. The Blessed Sacrament reveals to us
the love of the Heart of Jesus.
Come adore the Heart of Christ.

ANNUAL CATHOLIC APPEAL - 2017
Bishop DiMarzio has again set our parish goal
to $51,000 for the 2017 Campaign.
We encourage all to make a Commitment
