We’re delighted that you’ve come on board to fundraise during our Airbase Appeal!
Your school will be involved in something really special – and will be helping to build a
better future for your Air Ambulance. This fundraising pack will give you all the hints,
tips and ideas on how to begin your fundraising, but don’t forget, we’re always on
hand to help.
Thanks to an incredibly generous donation by a long standing supporter, we are most of
the way to raising the £5.1m we need to build our new airbase and equip it to the latest
standards. But we still need to raise £1.25m to complete the building and fit it out with
medical and helicopter equipment, fixtures and fittings.
This is on top of the £3.25m we need to raise every year to keep the air ambulance
flying. It’s a big challenge and why we really do need your help…now.

Why we need to move
Operating from two different sites has always been a short-term measure whilst we undertook
the job of finding a site where we can create a new custom-built airbase.
This will mean that for the first time in our history, our operational and charity teams will be
together under one roof. This will not only improve the service we offer, but will save money
longer term and make it possible for us to expand our services in the future.
We have carefully considered all of the feasible options for relocating. For more than a year we
searched for the right site and have found the perfect location – a 12.5-acre site at Outmarsh
Farm, Semington.
This is centrally located which means the air ambulance will still be able reach all parts of
Wiltshire in 11 minutes.
Fundraising ideas
There are hundreds of different ways to fundraise, but here are a few ideas on how you
can get started!
Fill a helipad with coins – make a huge helipad in your playground or outside
space and ask everyone to bring in their coins on a certain day and get making!
• Organise a non-uniform or themed fancy dress day – how about a yellow and green day,
or a superhero day?!
Hold a bake sale
• Put on a school production
Organise talent show or if you’re a senior school, a battle of the bands!
• Hold a carol concert
Have an art exhibition
• Organise a big quiz
Organise a games night
• Have a pyjama day!
Have one of our special collection boxes and fill it to the top!

We might even be able to send along our mascot,
Wilber, to the event! We can also come out and talk
to your school or college and tell everyone about
what we do – save people’s lives.

This capital appeal is to raise the funds needed to fit out and equip our new operations
centre to the latest standards. If, for any unforeseen reason, there are surplus funds, we
will use these donations to fund the ongoing operation of our lifesaving service.
