Go straight over the roundabout (Signposted City Centre A660) Follow this road (Otley Road) into Leeds. After ~1.5 miles the bus lane will disappear, take the left hand lane Go straight on at both sets of traffic lights and continue The Merrion Centre (LS2 8BT) and St Johns Centre (LS2 8LW) Take a right turn off Woodhouse Lane heading into the city at Merrion Street following the signs for the inner city loop road St Johns car park is almost immediately on the right hand side of the one way road For The Merrion centre take the first left up Wade Lane and follow the signs round onto Merrion Way. over a small hill On descending the hill you will reach a set of traffic lights with the Hyde Park pub on the left Go straight on at the traffic lights Parking in Leeds If you are coming by car, please be aware that recently visitors have experienced difficulty in parking, with the main Woodhouse Lane multi-storey being full. You might need to allow extra time to find a place, or to use another car park. Schofields NCP car park (LS1 6AD) Follow Woodhouse Lane straight into town - the car park is on the left just before you reach the pedestrianised area. West Riding House car park can be accessed by following the road to the right at this point (it is about 200m further on from the NCP car park, and the entrance is on the left hand side of the road). Rose Bowl (LS1 3HB) Woodhouse Lane Multi-Storey - LS1 3HQ Heading out of town: From Woodhouse Lane turn left onto Portland Crescent This car park is closest to the University but can often fill up quickly. From M1/M62 Stay in the right hand lane after exiting the A58M At traffic lights follow the signs for ‘City’ (doubling back on yourself), then take the left hand lane (Car Park). As the lane splits, stay in the car park lane on the right Leave the car park on level 5 and turn right to walk up the Heading into town: From Woodhouse Lane turn right heading into the city at Merrion Street following the signs for the inner city loop road. take the first left up Wade Lane and follow the signs round onto Merrion Way. follow Merrion Way to the junction of the A58, turn left, then right back onto Woodhouse Lane where Portland Way is just about 100m up the road road towards the white tower of the Parkinson Building. From the A1 After crossing the inner ring road turn right (Signed Motorway Multi-storey) At the next lights turn right and stay in the car park lane to enter the car park. From the A65 Continue straight along the dual carriageway Go straight on at the next set of traffic lights (Library pub on right) At the next junction keep in the left hand lane and go straight on (Car Parks, Civic Hall) Stay in the left hand lane and at the next set of lights go straight on (York A64M) Just after the lights the left lane splits – follow the car park lane which leads to the multi-storey car park. There is also a taxi rank - a taxi will take about 10 minutes and cost approximately £5. By Air Leeds Bradford airport is approximately 7 miles away. In addition to international flights there are regular flights to a number of UK airports including Aberdeen, Belfast, Bristol, Exeter, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Isle of Man, London Gatwick, Newquay, Plymouth and Southampton. A taxi from the airport to the University will cost approximately £20. By Train Leeds Train Station links regularly to all major UK cities. You can get from the station to the campus on foot, by taxi or by bus. A taxi ride will take about 10 minutes and it will cost approximately £5. The School of Chemistry is located on the right hand side of the Parkinson Building. From the train station by bus We advise you to take the No.1 bus which departs from Infirmary Street. The bus runs approximately every 10 minutes and the journey takes 10 minutes. You should get off the bus just outside the Parkinson Building. There is also the £1 Leeds City Bus which takes you from the train station to the lower end of campus but the journey time is much longer. From the train station on foot The University campus is a 20 minute walk from the train station. The map below will help you find your way. Leave the station through the exit facing the main concourse. Turn left past the bus stops and walk down towards City Square. Keeping City Square on your left, walk straight up Park Row. At the top of the road turn right onto The Headrow, passing The Light shopping centre on your left. After The Light turn left onto Woodhouse Lane to continue uphill. Keep going, passing Morrisons, Leeds Beckett University and the Dry Dock boat pub, heading for the large white clock tower - the Parkinson Building.
