DAY HOLIDAY NOTICE City Office Hours and Schedule Changes Residents reminded to put the garbage out! GLENDALE, Ariz. -- City of Glendale offices will be closed on Monday, Jan. 16, in observance of the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday. This federal holiday also marks an important change in the city’s holiday trash collection schedule. Effective January 2017, all residential collection will take place on all regularly-scheduled pickup days, including all federal holidays, except Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Day. In accordance with this change, all residential garbage and recycling collection services will take place as usual on all regularly scheduled collection days throughout the MLK holiday week. Only Gus Bus One will run on Monday, Jan. 16, operating on the Gus Bus One “Sunday schedule”, between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. Reservations for Dial-a-Ride service for the weekend preceding the holiday and the observed city holiday (Monday, Jan. 16), must be made ahead of time – by noon on Friday, Jan. 13. Reservations can be made by calling Glendale’s Transit Services at 623-930-3500. No same-day service on Monday will be available. ADA service will be available and will be based on a holiday fixed route schedule and Valley Metro buses will operate on a holiday schedule. While the Glendale Municipal Airport will remain open during the holiday, the airport’s administrative offices and the Visit Glendale offices will be closed Monday, Jan. 16, along with Glendale’s three public libraries.
