•Participation by LCC Staff and Partners in The Nature Conservancy/Nature
Conservancy Canada workshops on the bilateral Northern Appalachian Acadia
Ecoregional plan in Crawford Notch, New Hampshire and Montreal, Quebec;
•Identification of consistent data layers to be developed across the border into Canada
now underway building on existing data developed by The Nature Conservancy, Nature
Conservancy Canada related to geology, elevation, landforms, ecological land units,
climate, connectivity, secured lands, and roads;
•Identification of opportunities for bilateral conservation planning efforts in the
northern forest and Gulf of Maine now underway;
•Exploration of linkages of the LCC with Canadian partners through the New England
Governors/Eastern Canadian Premiers related to the Protect Wildlife Habitat Initiative
under the Blue Ribbon Commission on Land Conservation that recommended that
agencies implement the charge of the New England Governors by bringing these
initiatives together under the North Atlantic Landscape Conservation Cooperative.
