UNIFORM POLICY PRIMARY
Quinns Baptist College has a uniform code which states that all students who
attend the College will be required to wear College uniform in a neat, clean
and well-presented manner.
This contributes to:
 The fostering and enhancement of the public image of the College.
 Improving morale, team spirit and pride in the College.
 Ensuring that students are safely dressed for College activities.
 Encouraging equity among students and, therefore, reducing rivalry.
 Identifying non-College student and children who may be visiting the
campus.
Students are required to wear the College uniform in a manner which is a
credit to both the student and the College.



The College skirt must be worn no shorter than just above the knee.
The wearing of nail polish and makeup is prohibited.
In Terms 1 & 4 track suit jackets may be worn if the weather is cool, i.e.
with the summer uniform only. The red jumper must be worn with the
winter uniform.
All items of the College uniform are available through the College, with the
exception of footwear.
HATS
The red cap or bucket hat (Year 5 & 6) with the College logo is a compulsory
part of the uniform for all students. In accordance with our College policy,
which recognises our duty of care to all children who attend this school, the
‘no hat, no play in the sun’ policy will apply all year. This hat policy also
applies to after-school activities. Children without hats will be required to
remain in the shaded, undercover areas of the school. The flaps of the hat
must always be worn down.
BAGS
The red College back pack is compulsory. Bags must be kept in good condition
and not covered in graffiti. Unsatisfactory bags will need to be replaced.
Students are not be permitted to use non-College bags unless it is a
requirement that extra items be brought to the school for the day.
MAKE-UP / NAIL POLISH
No make-up or nail polish is to be worn.
HAIR STANDARDS
Hair must be tidy and well cared for while in school uniform. Hair must be
kept short or tied up. Hair accessories must be in red, white, teal or black;
no decorative type clips are permitted. Students with extreme and
inappropriate hairstyles or unnatural colours will be removed from class and
may require modification at the Principal’s discretion. Haircuts must not be
shorter than No.1.
JEWELLERY
No jewellery is allowed except for a wrist watch and a maximum of one pair
of plain (gold/silver) stud or sleeper earrings in the lower lobe of the ear(s).
Necklaces, bracelets and anklets of any nature are not permitted.
SHOES
Primary students must wear black polished leather lace-up or shoes with
velcro straps. Buckled and T bar shoes are also acceptable. Heels are to be no
higher than 20mm. All shoes must be closed in.
SPORTS UNIFORMS
The sport uniform is only to be worn on nominated sports or physical education
days. Sports shoes must be athletic trainers/joggers. Basketball shoes,
casual/skate shoes and canvas shoes are not permitted. Girls are permitted
to wear black bike pants under their sports skirt providing the bike pants are
no longer than the skirt.
SWIMWEAR
Girls:
Students in Pre-Primary through to Year 2 have the option of wearing twopiece swim wear. From Year 3-6 students only one-piece swim wear is
acceptable.
Boys:
Board shorts are acceptable.
Rashies are acceptable as coverings over swim wear. T-shirts of any kind are
not permitted be be worn over swim wear.
SUNGLASSES
Children may wear sunglasses when outdoors but are not to wear them in
class, or on their heads as decoration.
UNDERGARMENTS
Students are not permitted to wear bikini tops or coloured undergarments
under their College shirt.
SCARVES
Only red scarves purchased from the uniform shop are permitted.
SEASON CHANGEOVER
Summer uniform is worn in terms 1 and 4 and the winter uniform in terms 2
and 3.
