Bute Park Education Centre

The Education Centre is located in the centre of Bute Park, next to the Secret Garden Cafe.
Please note: there is no public vehicle access to the building, and no onsite parking.
Travelling by car & parking:
Bute Park is in the centre of Cardiff and has a variety of M4 motorway exits nearby (Junctions 33, 32 & 31.
Pay & Display Parking is available at Sophia Gardens (CF11 9SW – Follow the signs to Sophia Gardens and turn right)
Pay & Display Parking is also available at 2 sites on North Road: Castle Mews (CF10 3ER) and North Road (CF10 3EA)
Taxi Drop-offs:
If you are travelling to the Education Centre by taxi, please ask to be dropped off by the Royal Welsh College of Music
and Drama on North Road, or at Sophia Gardens Car Park off Cathedral Road, and follow walking directions below:
Walking to the Education Centre:
From West Lodge Entrance (15 minutes) – From this entrance, walk north along the river, past the Millennium footbridge
and Summerhouse Cafe and carry on until you see the Secret Garden Café, set behind a large redbrick wall. The entrance
to the Education Centre is through an Oak door, adjacent to the café.
From Sophia Gardens Car Park (5 minutes) – walk over the Millennium Bridge, turn left and walk up the river until you
see the redbrick wall and Secret Garden Café.
From North Road (3 minutes) – Enter the park by the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama on North Road. Turn right
and walk until you see a path on the left and a red brick wall. Turn left onto this path and walk until you see Secret
Garden Café.
Travelling by train
Cardiff Central Station is approximately 20/25 minutes’ walk to the Education Centre north along the River Taff past the
Millennium Stadium and into Bute Park at West Lodge.
Travelling by bus
Cardiff Central Bus Station (located next to Central Station) is also approximately 20/25 minutes’ walk to the Education
Centre. Alternatively; there are bus stops on North Road and Castle Street alongside Bute Park.
