Students Raise
$437 For CP
Farmingdale High School students participated recently in
the Rainbow Tag Day for Cerebral
Palsy.
Armed with cannisters and
sashes, the Dalers were stationed
at key locations at shopping
centers, banks, and business
areas. There was a three hour
shift on Friday night manned
almost entirely by Key Club
members and applicants. The
exceptions were two young ladies,
Linda Lackoer and Donna Kopt,
EXCHANGE TEACHER
who collected at the Bankers
Trust Co. Unaffected by the cold
and the rain, the Key Clubbers
amassed $234.00 that night. The
three shifts on Saturday, which
were taken up by members of
the
History
Club, Future
Teachers Club, Future Nurses
Club, Future Secretaries Club,
and the Honor Society, collected
slightly less than did the Friday
night shift.
After twelve hour s of collection
by almost one hundred volunteers, $437.00 was raised. The
drive, coordinated by four Key.
Club chairmen, was considered
a success.
Joseph W. Cox of 623 Conklin
St., Farmingdale, a long time
resident of this town, passed
away on Friday, May 21. After
service in World War I, Mr.
Cox was well known as a heavyweight boxer and also, in the
restaurant field.
He is survived by his wife,
Lee; his son, Clarence Cassidy; two brothers, Hugh and
.George; and two sisters, Gertrude and Minota. Funeral services were held at the McCourt
and Trudden Funeral Homo on
Tuesday, May 25, conducted by
the Rev. Bernhardt Bohrer. Interment was in L.I. National
Cemetery at Pinelawn.
