Mi Calendario: A Personal Calendar Project!
Using our knowledge earned over the Calendar unit, we created personal calendars that demonstrated our understanding of the days of
the week (dotw), numbers 1-31, the months, and seasons in Spanish. Students had the choice of using a template online or creating one
by hand.
Below are the IB formatted lesson plan and two examples of student work!

Opener/Hook:
Differentiation:
Students asked to quiz one another on new vocabulary. Then,
using previous dotw/months vocabulary to see if students can
combine information to create meaning.
Mini Lesson:
Differentiation:
Remind students we will be making a calendar as part 2 of our
test (part 1 was a make-your-own-test assignment completed
last class).
Go over expectations in the lab. Discuss what to do when
finished.

Work Session:
Differentiation:
Students taken to LAB to begin work on their calendar. When
finished, students must print final work.
-Final step, present their calendar in Spanish to Sr. Doyle. Will
be asked questions about “what dotw is ‘el quince de febrero’”
to check for understanding.
Closing:
Students will review their calendars with a partner and share
what they learn.
Assessment:
Participation, written and oral assessment for a grade.
