PROPOSAL1 : YOUNG IDEA PROJECT
Natya Chetana in connection with the IDEA network and accepted proposition to hold a Young IDEA project in Asia will begin a theatre
workshop before the Festival period. The information are :
The workshop title : Young IDEA Asia Workshop
Venue of the workshop : Natya Gram, Theatre Village of Natya Chetana, near Bhubaneswar Orissa, India

Time period : Begins from 10 October 2011(Monday) until 7 November 2011 (Monday):29 days
To be conducted by : Principal Facilitators (from Bangladesh), Mask Dance Teacher from Korea, Folk Theatre Teacher from India
apart from Guest facilitators on casual basis from other countries like Nepal, Hong Kong, Thailand etc..
Eligibility of participants : age group within 14 to 18 years, English speaking, from countries of Asia (possibly from existing ARTEN
member countries-India, Bangladesh, Korea, Nepal etc.); must produce a letter of consent from their parents or legal guardian and a
recommendation from a ARTEN member or any legally established University, not to depend any accompaniment, can have an
approval of the school to allow the student to be absent for the period
Participant : maximum 20 will be take up
Provisions : Local hospitality(food, Lodge, Local Transport), Venue and workshop expenditure will be offered from Natya Chetana /
Funds are yet to be raised for this.
Own Contribution : The participant are to be sent through some recommendation on behalf of some organisational base. So the
participant is expected to get support from the ‘sender’. The participants have to raise their travel expenses for up and down journey
up to Bhubaneswar.
Workshop highlights :

The participants have to arrive one or two days before 10 October 2011 and will return from Bhubaneswar after 16 October
2011 at the end of the Festival at Natya Gram. However they can extend their stay beyond this for any sightseeing or so by

their own. So Natya Chetana will take responsibility of their stay maximum from 8 October up to 16 November 2011 (total
40 days).
This will be an intensive workshop from morning till night having breaks for personal habits. No drop outs in between, no
personal agenda in between, no permission to go out of the campus without prior approval.
Natya Gram/Theatre Village is free from tea, tobacco and alcohol.
The participants are provided with simple provisions like an Indian Village. The campus is away from a locality and market
area.
The participants are to carry their own belongings, usable including some winter clothes and need to be open for sharing
common facilities.
The participants are to cooperate within available facilities and develop fellow feeling with a group dynamic spirit.
The participants are to follow the instruction of the workshop leaders and follow the disciplinary announcements of the camp
as well as Theatre Village (Natya Gram).
Expected Results :

There will be a 45 minutes theatre presentation going to be ready to play on the first day of the festival on 10 November
2011.
There will be a selection of about 5 participants to join in the World Congress of Drama and Education in the Young IDEA
international project in 2013 going to be held at Paris, France.

PROPOSAL 2 : CHILDREN’S THEATRE PROJECT
Mr. Patrick Navattee, the Artistic Theatre Director and Project manager of Mirrior Vagabond of Belgium has developed a
Special Theatre Project to conduct Children’s Theatre Workshop with the organisation – Baji Rout Chhatrabas of Angul,
Orissa in collaboration with Natya Chetana.

with 3 other Belgian Artists

The necessary materials, stationeries and production related technical materials are going to be available
through the project support.
Expected Results :
There will be a 60 minutes theatre presentation going to be ready to play when celebrating Indian National

There will be a possibility of selecting participants to visit Europe/Belgium as an exchange of theatre activities by
the end of 2013.

b) BALUGAON-CHILKA : which is a trip one day to the biggest lake of India named Chilka, boat trip to kalijai
mountain, see birds of the lake, may see dolphin, eating prawn
c) NANDAN KANAN ZOO : It is a Asia’s biggest natural zoo where one can see a variety of wild animal, birds,
reptiles in different sections apart from Tiger safari. It is very near to Bhubaneswar and have private Bus services
regularly. It will take whole day to cover every thing.
One can stay nights in Konark, Puri, Bhubaneswar or Balugaon. Any interested friends can contact the reception counter
for transport and hotel reservation.
IF ANYBODY WISHES TO GO FOR MORE PLACES IN ORISSA, THERE ARE MANY POSSIBILITIES INSIDE MOUNTAIN AREAS,
TRIBAL POCKETS.
THERE MAY BE OPPORTUNITIES OF LOOKING AT TRADITIONAL / FOLK THEATRE FORMS SUCH AS : JATRA ETC..
NATYA CHETANA INTIMATE THEATRE TOUR
Natya Chetana after a week of the festival is planning to have a tour to perform the play newly made for the festival. This tour will
involve shows in 10 different places/urban set ups in various parts of Orissa. The tour will have performances, meet with local theatre
persons, exhibition for the audiences education etc. A team of 25 persons (including artists, back stagers, managers and guest
observers) will move in a reserved Bus. There will be local partners to organise the show providing only logistics.
Natya Chetana will build its own setting, lighting, sound system, exhibition, book sale counter, banner and poster at the venue etc.

The tour may start on 24 November 2011. The detail movement has yet to be planned. The total 10 places may be attempted in 2

different phases. The phase one could be 24 to 28 November 2011 and the second phase would be delayed for December 2011.
