1907 - 1938 1939 - 1956 1957 - 1960 1961 - 2016 The images above show what Tan-y-Deri looked like after intial construction. Notice the large porch extending off the north elevation (on the left above). This porch had two large cantileverd beams that sat on columns. During this period alterations were made to the orignal porch. First the cantilevered beams were cut back and a small flat roof was added between the beams. The next major step, shown in the images above, involved the addition of a small screen porch with a roof. During this period the french doors were also added into the basement. This is the period that the porch will be restored to. The above images show the last major changes to the Tan-y-Deri front porch. This involved the removal of the large wooden deck. The stone foundation and concrete cap were retained. On top of this several course of new stone work were added and a new stone wall was constructed about four feet from the covered screen porch, that was retained from the previous period. This is the configuration of the porch, as it was prior to restoration. A small flat roof had been added around the existing hip roof of the screen porch. All the other details were the same as the era between 1954-60.
