EFC was incepted in the Fall of 2001.
We are an outside soccer club that uses
FUTSAL as a training tool in the winter
to help our players indoor game. It is
part of our basic philosophys for
training for 17 years. Particularly in the
cold weather months in New England.
Exploion has trained "small ball" or
Futsal every winter. We have had teams
from every age and every level of
development train and compete at the
highest levels of Futsal competition.

EFC has competed in many local leagues, including
the one that EFC itself ran for 4 years and will soon
run again with our partners at the completion of the
New England Sports Village in Attleboro, Forekicks,
the Massachusetts Futsal League including state,
regional, and nationals. EFC was the proud winners
of the United States National Championship with
our girls in 2011.
The fast paced, up and down games is some of the
most exciting action you will see in soccer! Every
single aspect of what is taught and learned on the
Futsal court translates to what we are doing on the
outdoor soccer pitch, without compromise. We
look forward to helping your child fall in love with
the game that we have taught to thousands of kids

The footwork and skills developed
in futsal are clearly visible in the
world-famous style that Brazilians
display on
full-sized soccer fields. Pelé, Zico,
Socrates, Bebeto, Ronaldo, and
women’s superstars, Katia and
Sissi, all grew up playing futsal.
Futsal® is played indoors with a smaller-heavier size 3-4
ball. There are no walls in play. Also called “five-a-side”,
this is the game world class soccer players around the
globe play to refine and maintain their ball control skills,
footwork and touch.
There are four field players and a goalkeeper who protects
a 6 1/2 x 10 ft. goal. The game teaches tremendous ball
control skills and presents incredible opportunities to get
numerous touches on the ball.

“Why the funny ball”, you ask?
Futsal uses a low-bounce ball that is smaller and heavier
than a normal outdoor soccer ball and specifically designed
to build confidence, develop skill and technique. When a
Futsal ball is received, it virtually ‘sticks’ to the foot. This
builds great confidence in tight spaces when rapid passes
are being issued repeatedly. Interestingly, the same property which makes the ball easy to receive makes it more
difficult to strike. A Futsal ball gradually eliminates the
‘lazy pass’. The smaller
size and weight of the ball
encourages more precise
striking of the ‘sweet
spot’. Players quickly get
acquainted with the merits
of bending the knee, turning the hips, and striking
the ball firmly to propel it.
