Position Description Fletcher Earthquake Recovery Quantity Surveyor September 2011 Purpose of Role The purpose of this position is to contribute to the operations of Fletcher Earthquake Recovery (Fletcher EQR) by: • Ensuring that Fletcher EQR pays a fair and reasonable price for work carried out by contractors • Ensuring contractor claims are able to be paid in a timely and accurate manner • Contributing to effective working relationships between contractors and Fletcher EQR • Preparing information about Earthquake Recovery (EQR) costs Dimensions • To process 60 claims per month Other Information: • Located in Canterbury • Reporting to Senior Hub Quantity Surveyor (if applicable), otherwise the Hub Project Manager • Technical reporting to the Commercial Manager • The Fletcher EQR operation is expanding rapidly and it is expected that work volumes and activities will increase and vary over time Key Relationships Internal • Other hub staff, particularly Contract Supervisors - Exchanging information. Providing information/ advice about EQR processes • Command centre quantity surveying staff - Recommending payment of claims. Providing reports, forecasts and other information External • Contractors - Agreeing quotes, variations and claims • EQC loss adjusters - Agreeing quotes and variations • Homeowners - Arranging visits, discussing quotes, variations etc Authority Levels As per EQC Delegated Authorities Key Accountabilities and Key Tasks Specific responsibilities • Assessing quotes for home repairs to ensure that quotes are fair/reasonable • Evaluating variations to quotes, liaising with EQC loss adjusters regarding variations, approving variations • Working with contractors, contract supervisors and EQC loss adjusters to resolve different viewpoints regarding quotes and variations • Entering payment claims to the PA database.
