Task Force Recovers Over 250 Pounds of Marijuana

23-year old Richard VEGA of the 9700 block of Trident, El Paso, TX
EL PASO, TEXAS – Investigators assigned to the West Texas H.I.D.T.A/ Source City Metro Narcotics
Task Force seized over 250 pounds of marijuana and arrested on man on Tuesday during an ongoing
investigation. Detectives conducting the ongoing investigation at a residence in the 9700 block of Trident
located 288 wrapped bundles of Marijuana in a vehicle (Nissan Altima) at the residence. As a result
Richard VEGA was placed under arrest for the Marijuana. The 288 bundles had a total weight of 258.91
pounds. VEGA was charged with Possession of Marijuana Over 50 pounds – Under 2000 pounds. He was
booked into the El Paso County Jail on a bond of $40,000.00. This investigation continues.
