functions. The additions are in line with the strategy of the Munich-based specialist for connected car
solutions to continually expand and enhance the
performance and scope of services delivered by its app
solutions. The company is initially concentrating on the
BMW, Mini, Mercedes, Audi, Porsche, Seat, Skoda and
VW brands. Focusing on these key manufacturers
allows Carly to make its apps increasingly more
powerful. The objective is to offer users the most
convenient and comprehensive solution enabling them
to personally read, analyse and code vehicle functions
at manufacturers’ quality – in a way that is perfectly
legal and requires no expert assistance.

codings are now available for all F-models (from build
year 2011 onwards) as well. For these models the
Used Car Check function now also offers significantly improved manipulation detection, with inormation
about possible vehicle manipulation incidents plus a driving profile analysis being displayed separately.
The user can additionally query data on battery status, a warning light history and a percentage-wise
breakdown of the short, medium and long distances the vehicle has travelled.
Just recently the company, based on an anonymous worldwide data analysis of more than 100,000 app
users with 400,000 BMW vehicles, proved that about 15 per cent of all BMW cars subjected to the Used
Car Check had been manipulated with by a previous owner. This function will avoid such unpleasant
surprises when purchasing a used car in future.

The developers of the app are currently gathering information on further cases of tampering in a survey
conducted among BMW users.
Carly for VAG
The app for vehicles of the Volkswagen Group (VW, Audi, Seat and Skoda) includes both the
Diagnostics and the Coding function (Android and iOS) for all models. The diagnostics function enables
an in-depth analysis of vehicle electronics and gives drivers insight into the current ‘state of health’ of their
own vehicles. The readout of the fault detection report corresponds to diagnostics at professional level of
quality. The diagnostics function taps the same fault codes as the software used by a manufacturer’s
authorised repair shop. As a result, the vehicle owner can personally detect issues at an early stage that
might otherwise have led to costly repairs at a later point in time. The coding function enables various
minor modifications to be made to all vehicles of the Volkswagen Group built between 2004 and 2013.
Carly for Mercedes
Mercedes drivers, in addition to using the diagnostics and live parameter function, can now perform a
Used Car Check as well (from build year 2005 onwards) allowing them to track the car’s entire service
history. The Used Car Check provides information about the dates on which vehicle maintenance was
performed, the related speedometer readings, plus the average number of miles the vehicle has travelled
per day.
