GOOD MORNING.
This is Felicite, Danish,
and Benjamin broadcasting live from Burns News
5. We are here to bring
you this week’s most interesting news stories.
Gold Pieces Found
A couple was walking their dog on
their rural property and noticed a
buried can sticking out of the ground
near a tree. They took it home and
opened the lid and found a stash of 20
dollar gold pieces. They went back
and found another can. It had coins
inside. With a metal detector, they
found more rusty cans of coins. They
got a total amount of
1,400 coins, some
really rare. The coins
were in good condition and fetched up to
1 million dollars.
Two students from Hofstra University
will be living their dream. They will be
sitting next to the Islander’s announcer
Howie Rose and will help announce
the hockey game. Hofstra partners with
the New York Islanders and students
learn how to broadcast the games. So
our News 5 broadcasters can hopefully
one day live their dream, too!

A good Samaritan gave her coat to
cover a woman who was giving birth
on a New York City sidewalk. Isabel
Williams was out getting a cup of coffee on Monday when she spotted the
woman who couldn’t get to the hospital
in time. Polly McCourt and baby Ila
Isabel are doing just fine. Mom gave
her baby the same middle name as the
good Samaritan.

Museum.
Today is going to be
very sunny but very
cold. Snow is expected
again Sunday night

about 18 inches away
from the record set in
1995!
