Mercury Minerals Policy

Hewitt Industries Pyrometer Instrument Mercury Policy:
While Hewitt Industries is a private company that is not required to comply with the
Madison declaration on mercury pollution, Hewitt Industries is sensitive to the
concerns of its business partners.
Hewitt Industries hereby declares that, to the best of our knowledge, the mineral
known as mercury (Hg, atomic number 80) also know as quicksilver, is not
intentionally added to any parts of our instrument gauges including all pyrometer
instrument gauges nor is it used in any of the processes to manufacture our
instrument gauges.
-
Hewitt Industries does not deal directly with smelters of mercury minerals.
Hewitt Industries does not produce nor smelt minerals, including mercury — but
does purchase parts, materials and processes used to manufacture products
from 3rd party vendors.
Hewitt Industries has an internal policy for tracing the end product and all
constituent parts back to the original purchase order acquiring the parts.
Hewitt Industries has an active program requesting source information back
through the supply chain for all minerals including mercury.
Hewitt Industries will, on specific request, share such source information.
Please contact Hewitt Industries Sales or Purchasing for further information.
