Kids Fun Zone Wristband / Ticket Volunteer Guidelines YOUR VOLUNTEER 1. 2. 3. PACKET SHOULD CONTAIN: A Volunteer Parking Pass A 3-day Admission WRISTBAND to the Festival Festival Map HOW TO CHECK-IN FOR YOUR VOLUNTEER SHIFT Please make sure that you allow plenty of time to get to the Festival, especially on Friday and Saturday Nights. Those are the busiest times and you will get caught in a Huge Traffic jam. We recommend that if you are working the 7pm - 10pm shift on Saturday that you plan on arriving at 4:00pm ... you can check out the Festival and get something to eat before your shift starts. The VOLUNTEER PARKING LOT is located on the EASTSIDE of Collin College, but you will enter from the WESTSIDE on Jupiter Road. Please refer to the map included in your packet for the exact location. Your pass is only good for the day that you volunteer so when you enter the VOLUNTEER PARKING LOT to park, someone will take your pass. If you are volunteering on more than one day or returning for another shift, please pick up an additional pass when you check in for your first shift. If you have your volunteer assignment and know where to report, proceed directly to your shift location. If you are unclear about where to report or need additional assistance, please proceed to the volunteer check-in booth. The VOLUNTEER CHECK-IN BOOTH will be located near the south end of the Volunteer Parking Lot. Look for the Volunteer Check-in Tent which will be clearly marked, but refer to the site map for exact location. HELPFUL HINTS AND SUGGESTIONS ATTIRE: Please feel free to wear a t-shirt that showcases the agency you are representing. It can be HOT during the Festival, so dress accordingly. Wear comfortable shoes and don't forget your sunscreen if you're working during the day! Travel light! There is not a safe place to store your valuables! COURTESY AND PROFESSIONALISM: It is the goal of the Plano Balloon Festival, Inc. to make sure that our attendees, sponsors / vendors, pilots and volunteers have a great experience! Please make every effort to assist our guests in a courteous and professional manner. If anyone has a complaint, concern or comment, that you cannot address, please direct them to one of the Zone Coordinators, Festival Headquarters or to the Volunteer Check-in area. f • SAFETY FIRST: Nothing is more important than the safety of our guests, sponsors / vendors, pilots and volunteers! Please alert Festival staff to any situation that you feel is a safety concern, no matter how small. The Kids Fun Zone is a major children's activity area at our Festival. It is very important you greet our attendees in a pleasant manner and encourage them to have a wonderful time. You are the Festival Face in the Kids Fun Zone and we want their impression of the InTouch Credit Union Plano Balloon Festival to be a positive one. Play Prices • All day play wristbands $20 • Single ticket play $2.00 per ticket • AD Pages Coupon for 1 single ticket - NO Cash Value Wristbands and Tickets are good in the Kids Fun Zone ONLY All inflatable rides are one ticket each. Rock wall is 2 tickets per climb. Logistics and Operations Items and Supplies Provided: Supplies that are in BOLD will need to be picked up at the Finance Trailer each morning as your shifts begin. Access to the Finance and Radio Trailers is located through the gate directly behind the Kashi Tour. • • • • • Wristbands and single tickets Two-way radios Ice chest with water Change for the day 10 x 10 gazebo at each ticket selling booth. MONEY COLLECTION: ALL MONEY SHOULD REMAIN INSIDE THE DRAWER. .. DO NOT COUNT THE MONEY ON THE TABLES IN VIEW OF THE PUBLIC. Radio Contact for change or cash is Channel #3. Money will be collected by an authorized member of the Festival Team. They will have on a BRIGHT GREEN shirt and will be wearing a badge. If you are uncomfortable with the pick-up, please use the radio and call Channel #3 to confirm the pick-up. A Sheriff's Officer will be stationed at your tent for security purposes. Do not transport the money yourself - instead, radio channel #3 and ask for a pick-up. COMMUNICATION: You will have a radio that you will need to keep on Channel #3. You can check out the radio from the Communications Trailer located beside the Finance Trailer. Be sure you return the Radio each evening so it can be charged for the next day. If your battery becomes low, it will beep. Bring the Radio to the Communication Traiier and the battery can be switched. In an effort to fulfill our mission it has been decided to accept several new service providers this year. After reviewing all the organizational profiles we received and your areas of interest to assist us in 2010, the Plano Balloon Festival, Inc. Board would like to extend an invitation to your organization to staff the Kids Fun Zone on Sunday, September 19. Groups assigned to staff the Kids Fun Zone will share $4,500.00 to be distributed based on the number of volunteer slots that the organization fills. Your percentage will be 26% which is $1,170. Please have several volunteers present as we will be providing information on how to run the KFZ, logistics of the Festival and will be distributing volunteer packets that contain the volunteer 3 day admission ticket and parking pass. To maximize your organizations exposure to our attendees we encourage your volunteers to wear shirts promoting your organization.
