Lily helps to raise funds!
P7 pupil, Lily Dingwall, from Canberra primary school in East
Kilbride took part in raising money for charity. She helped raise
£1500, half going to Prince and Princess of Wales Trust and the
other half going to Diabetes UK .
Lily, her mum and her aunt decided to put on a race night to invite
people to come along and take part in helping these causes.
There were over 100 people there, some of whom came from as
far away as England.
Diabetes UK is close to Lily’s heart as she deals with having
diabetes herself every day. Lily was excited to take part in
fundraising for this cause and told us her e at the Canberra Daily
Drama, that she hopes to repeat this event every year.
We would all like to congratulate Lily on such a wonderful
achievement! Well Done!

Antics!
At the P4-P7 disco on Thursday
we enjoyed music, dancing,
games and the DJ was awesome
and played trendy music. We also
had free drinks and got Goodie
bags at the end. Lee won best
costume dressed as Mario.
Our playground is a great
place to have fun with all
of our friends.
At the P1-P3 disco all the children
dressed up in costumes. There
were some skeletons, witches, a
Pac-man and Pikachu to name a
few. Niamh was dressed up as
Jessy from Toy Story and won the
best costume game. The DJ
played good music that everyone
knew and everyone had lots of fun
dancing! We hope that there will
be discos again next year
Mrs Blockley
We get to play football in
the MUGA, use the
wooden timber trail and
play with the toy box.
The children make up lots
of games including Up
and Down Tig which is
lots of fun and makes us
all very tired.
We love having outside
playtimes!
Olivia Dunn P4
Mrs Blockley of Room 6 Primary 5 has been chosen to be Teacher of the
Term by the Media and Achievements Committee. This is for various
reasons, including helping her class to receive the Head Teachers Award
this term. We interviewed Mrs Blockley and asked her some questions:
Olivia Dunn wins 3rd place!
What inspired you to like football so much?
As a child I remember watching Scotland play and everyone watched it
on TV. I also played a lot of football outside, usually with all the boys on
my street
Why do you think that some of the children consider you to be the
best teacher in the world?
What a compliment! I think probably my sense of humour and fun.
What is your favourite music?
It would have to be rock and roll music.
What is your favourite hobby?
Apart from football it would be cycling and gardening.
What inspired you to be a teacher?
I was looking for something different and challenging.
One of Canberra’s primary 4 pupils surprised us all by coming 3rd
in a World wide competition
Halloween Fun!
Olivia Dunn is a member of a Hip Hop Dancing troupe and they
recently competed in a competition. There were 24 children in her
group and they came 3rd place!
Olivia received an amazing medal which she brought into the
school to show off at assembly.
