Feb.1989: PH.D. Arab- Byzantine Relationships in Egypt (Excellent), entitled: “The
Administrative Organization of Egypt after the Arab Conquest. Similarities and
Differences to the Byzantine Model”. Faculty of Philosophy, Department of History

Career
The academic year 1995-1996 – Lecturer in the Department of History and
Archaeology in the Faculty of Philosophy of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki
(AUTH) on the module “Medieval History of the Arab-Islamic World”. In 2003 –
Assistant Professor in the same Department, on the same module. In 2007 –
permanency process (according to the Greek law) in the grade of Assistant Professor.
Now, in the process for the next Scientific Grade.
-The academic year 1994-1995 - Democritus University of Thrace (DUTH):
Department of History and Ethnology on the module “The Classical years of Islam”.
-Since the academic year 2010-2011 until today – visiting professor at the
Democritus University of Thrace (DUTH), Department of History and Ethnology on

-Since 1999 until 2007 – visiting Professor at the University of Macedonia,
