First, a word about the last two weeks… The next week

Dear Mary
In light of the past couple of weeks and the week ahead of us, I’d like to bring a few
important items to your attention.
First, a word about the last two weeks…
Most of you have seen the news about the legal harassment of pastors in Houston,
Texas, and the wedding professionals in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.
The City of Houston has called for pastors
to turn over their sermons, as well as
other pastoral communication, that may
have criticized Houston’s highly
controversial ordinance "allowing
members of each sex open access to the
other gender’s public bathrooms”.
Never mind pastors' strongly protected
First Amendment rights to free speech
and freedom of religion...

In Coeur d’Alane, Donald and Evelyn
Knapp own and operate a small wedding
chapel. Last week, however, "the Knapps
respectfully declined [to allow same-sex
ceremonies at their wedding chapel] and
now face up to 180 days in jail and up to
$1,000 in fines for each day they decline
to perform that ceremony."
If you haven’t heard about these things, take a moment to click on the links, pray for
those involved, and ask that the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ may be proclaimed all
the more clearly. And, should persecution come our way in Minnesota for the sake of
righteousness, may we rejoice and be glad (Matt 5:11-12).
Of course, Minnesota Family Council continues to work hard to prevent persecution
from coming your way! Our mission is to nurture and defend families by restoring
biblical truth in our culture, which brings us to…
The next week...
Minnesota Family Council’s Voter Guide is now available for download and
printing here. Please take a moment to distribute the Voter Guide electronically or in
hard copy to members of your church. Election Day (Tuesday, November 4th!) is
nearly upon us!
Too often Christians don’t know where candidates stand or whether candidates have
even taken a stand on essential issues like abortion, marriage, and so on. We have
done all the hard work of documenting and assembling this information on every
candidate running for State and National offices.
If every faithful Christian simply knew where their candidates stood on the important
issues and then voted for those who would represent them well, the political and legal
landscape would look far different. Of course, voting won’t convert hearts, but
faithful Christians voting does restrain wickedness!
Third, a word about our new website…
If you haven’t had a chance, please take a look at our new website We’ll be adding to
it in the months to come, but we trust the new design will serve you better.
Please know that we’re thankful in the Lord for your faithful labors in the Lord. May He
bless your ministries and enable you to proclaim His full counsel to your people.
Yours in Christ,
Pastor Jeff Evans,
Pastor Liaison
