Instructions:
1. Cut out pattern
pieces. Group the
pieces so it will
give you a better
idea of the color
scheme for the
pieces.
2. Select the appropriate color for each
piece of the portrait.
(It is alright for the
page you chose to
have words on it).
Trace the pattern
on magazine paper
with a pencil.

4. Cut out pattern
pieces. Place face and
eyes in place. Do not
glue pieces on yet!

5. Place hair on top
of the face.
6. Place beard on the
face.
8. Add nose,
mouth and ears.
9. Place the hat
band and pompom in place.

10. Fold the white
construction in half to
make a card. Glue the
green construction on
the front of the card.
Transfer the portrait
pieces over to the green
construction paper.
Glue them in place.
You have finished with
Santa’s portrait card!
3. Trace and
cut out the
two ears at
the same time
on two pieces
of paper. Do
the same with
the eyes.

Time: 60 MinutesSkill Level: High
Instruction:
1. Select a tan or brown color from
a magazine page. Tear out an oval
from it for Santa’s face. Note: When
you tear, hold on to the area you
want to tear with one hand and
then tear closely where it was held
with the other hand. Move the
hands along as you tear.

2. Take a piece of white
page, with or without print,
from a magazine. Hold it
up to the oval (Santa’s face)
and measure how much
to tear off for a beard. The
beard can be rounded or
pointed at the end.

3. Tear out a red triangle or a triangle with
a curved end for a hat.
Measure and make a
hat band for the hat.
Glue the hat band on
the hat (see #3 B).
6. Fold the piece white construction in half to
make a card. Glue the green construction on the
front of the card. Transfer and glue Santa’s portrait onto the front of the card. Congratulations!
You just made a portrait of Santa!
