CENTRAL OHIO
In October Central Ohio Youth for Christ officially opened the expanded
City Life Center. With an additional 36,000 feet of programming space,
YFC is now able to hold new after-school programming in pottery,
fitness, Audio-Visual, computer programming, and textiles. We’re excited
to provide even more opportunities to engage with the neighborhood
youth.

Floors two and three are dedicated to The Franklinton Preparatory
Academy, a public charter high school. FPA employs a blended learning
approach where the best of traditional schools is interwoven with the
flexibility and individuality of online schools to provide an experience
tailored to the needs of the student. Now in its second year of
operation, 119 Franklinton students are taking advantage of this learning
experience.
We have $1.7 million remaining to reach the expansion costs of $7.4
million. Please contact Sara Tate at [email protected] to make a gift
or pledge.

Matthew 25:40 Dear YFC Friends,
As I look back to 2014, I would have to say we at YFC experienced one of the
more significant years of ministry we’ve had in a long time.

At the beginning of the year our application for $7 million in New Market
Tax Credits was approved which allowed us to complete the 36,000 sq. ft.
expansion of the City Life Center. We’re so grateful that God blessed our plans
to provide better educational opportunities for the neighborhood youth.
In the summer we took on the management of Gracehaven, a ministry committed to
combating domestic minor sex trafficking. Gracehaven provides quality presentations and
trainings to alert others to this horrible situation. We look forward to opening a residential
home for trafficked girls 12-17 years old in summer 2015 – only the second of its kind in
Ohio.

And God continues to empower our ministries in reaching young people with the
message of grace and hope. We served 315 students through Point Break anti-bullying
seminars that always inspire teens to be more empathetic. The Columbus Tutoring
Initiative grew to 20 schools in 2014, and we fully expect to increase that number of 10
during 2015. And through the heartfelt sacrifice of our staff and volunteers with City Life,
Campus Life and Juvenile Justice Ministry, 257 young people made decisions to begin a
relationship with Christ.
