Prayer and Supper
M. The Lord be with you.
6:15 p.m.
C. And also with you.
Hymn: 229
Prayer for Pardon and Grace (in unison):
Merciful God, who loves us with an endless love, we
confess that we fail to fulfill your purposes for us. Though you
have bound yourself to us, we do not always bind ourselves to
you. In Jesus, you serve us freely, but we do not always love you
fully or love one another as you invite us to do.
O God, who washed the disciples’ feet, cleanse us from
the stain and burden of our sin. Keep us in close communion
with Christ, who is the bread of life and the vine, enabling us to
walk in faith, hope, and love. Lord have mercy, Christ have
mercy, Lord have mercy upon us. Amen
Assurance of Grace
Prayer for Understanding
Lesson: Exodus 12:11-14
Psalm 116: selected verses:
L. I love you, Lord! You answered my prayers.
C. You paid attention to me, and so I will pray to you as long
as I live.
L. You are kind, Lord, so good and merciful.
C. You protect ordinary people, and when I was helpless, you
saved me and treated me so kindly that I don't need to
worry anymore.
L. You, Lord, have saved my life from death, my eyes from tears,
my feet from stumbling.
C. Now I will walk at your side in this land of the living.
L. I was faithful to you when I was suffering, though in my
confusion I said, “I can’t trust anyone!”
C. What must I give you, Lord, for being so good to me?
I will pour out an offering of wine to you, and I will pray in
your name because you have saved me. I will keep my
promise to you when your people meet.
L. You are deeply concerned when one of your loyal people faces
death.
C. I worship you, Lord, just as my mother did, and you have
rescued me from the chains of death.
All. I will offer you a sacrifice to show how grateful I am, and I
will pray.
