Security and access control
The National e-Health portal handles large amounts of confidential information on the individual citizen. The solution is thus developed so that it
meets the high national standards for data protection.
Only the citizen and healthcare providers can access personal information
on the portal. Access to confidential data requires a digital signature (for
the citizen) or special security certificates (for the healthcare professionals). All visits to the personal site are logged, and the citizen can, at any
time, see who has accessed which information on his or her own pages.
Integration of the healthcare services
The National e-Health Portal provides integration for some of the central
registers and solutions in the Danish healthcare sector and thus supports
a common infrastructure. The portal is under continuous development as
more data providers and features are added to the system.
