UAW Retiree Medical Benefits Trust (URMBT) to end the Indiana CareCore Pilot program
Effective May 13, 2014, the UAW Retiree Medical Benefits Trust (the Trust) will end a pilot program with
CareCore National LLC, for the clinical review and prior approval of diagnostic imaging services for nonMedicare UAW Chrysler, Ford and GM retirees and their eligible dependents. After May 12, the prior
approval requirements will no longer apply to non-Medicare members enrolled with Anthem Blue Cross and
Blue Shield (Anthem) in Indiana, in the Traditional Care Network (TCN) plans under the group numbers
indicated below.

CareCore approval is still required for dates of services through May 12, 2014 for non-Medicare members
enrolled in the Traditional Care Network (TCN) plan in Indiana. Medicare members were not subject to
CareCore approval.
This is a revision to the April 29, 2011 Network eUPDATE, “Indiana URMBT Will Use CareCore National for
Diagnostic Imaging Review.”
